Pope. 5. Unlucky with some of the goals but has to take some responsibility for the 4th goal and poor kicking
Taylor. 6. Did okay though why he was playing there I have no idea.
Gibson. 6. Not obviously at fault but we did let in 5.
Tarks.6. For the most part he had a decent game
Long. 4. Bad day at the office

Hendrick. 6. Probably our best player
Defour. 4. Barely noticed him
Brady. 4. Offered very little
McNeil. 6. Some really bright moments
Vydra. 4. Put in an impossible position but can only score him on what he did

As long as Heaton remains fit and in form the performance today might be a positive in a strange kind of way, if he had a worldy today and then been shoved back down to playing with the under 23's it might have had a negative effect.

Hopefully it shows us/him that it's going to be a long road back to being at 100% and therefore delays any drastic decisions regarding the goalkeeping position until the summer.

Pope 4 little chance with most goals and lively early on but some awful kicking
Taylor 6 Wasn’t too bad but slightly bizzare position
Gibson 6 seemed ok
Tarky 6 steady and no errors I recall
Long 4 turned inside out a couple of times
Ward 5 ok but beaten for speed
Hendrick 6 Jeff kept at i and probs our mom for what it’s worth
Defour 4 Did he play ??
Brady 4 Poor but barely any scraps at all
McNeil 5 A few bright moments but rest him up
Vydra 4 Banged a good chance in side netting little service

Cork. 6 got stuck in but thankless task
Wood. 6. We stepped up briefly

Outplayed totally by a world class outfit , SD fielded a decent side and we were battered quickly move on

Pope 5 A real mixed bag inc some smart stops. Made Heaton look great
Taylor 5 Did ok playing out of position. Shows our lack of depth in squad

Long 4 Not really at fault for og but pen was a disaster

Hendrick 6 Seems to be getting back towards his best
Defour 3 Invisible Realize how good westy and Cork are !
Brady 4 looks scared to go for 50/50 balls
Mcneil 6 some quality touches. No idea why SD would risk him for 90 mins with United coming up on Tuesday ( extra 24 hour rest for United of course)
Vydra 3 Created and fluffed his only chance but insanity to play him as a lone striker

Cork, Wood, Westy should never have been risked once game was lost

Hope when we play them at TM we get in their faces. Today we just stood and watched

We didn't lay a glove on them. We didn't press and we looked to manage the scoreline from the off but sometimes you've just got to give credit to the opposition. Hendrick and McNeill were the 'relative' pluses for us but the teamsheets killed any puncher's chance we might have had. A good day out punctuated by the usual seating/standing conflict.

The least said about this performance the better. I'm putting it to bed. I live in hope and expectation for Tuesday night but quite frankly I'm not raising my hopes, just hoping we at least compete.
