no-one has mentioned this major yet, Rory's not started well again +3, but the long course is proving troublesome for all the players early on.
Koepka is the joint clubhouse leader at -3, but a mention for Scotland's Martin Laird who carded a -2 70, and is only 1 off the lead.
Plenty of other British interest near the top of the leader board, including a couple of new names to me in the form of Sam Horsfield & Tom Lewis.

It’s a links setup on the edge of the Atlantic: no wonder Laird is doing well. Hell of a course.

very tough course, Langer missed a tiddler there in 91 Ryder Cup to lose Ryder Cup.

It should be a tough course it is a major after all, and I'm not surprised the organisers have increased the length given how long some of these guys now hit their drives.

Mickelson rolling back the years and he'll take a one-shot lead into the final round. You wouldn't back against him closing this out for an historic victory his experience could be key down the back 9.

Should be an interesting final round. My gut says Koepka will win but his fitness could be an issue. Don't particularly like Mickelson so don't think I'll be rooting for him.

On paper it looks a straight shoot out between the two, but strange things can happen in the last round of a major, and there's plenty of quality among the chasing pack for someone to mount a challenge from behind.
Paul Casey the best placed of the Brits if you fancy any of them to make a late charge.

The best score yesterday was 68. Casey is going to have to shoot at least 6 shots better than BOTH Mickelson and Koepka, which isn't going to happen
Two of the current top five may not break par today but the other three will. I'd be very surprised if neither Mickelson nor Koepka wins.
Koepka for me.

Certainly looks like a Koepka/Phil shoot out for all the marbles, however! Koepka's bad knee could blow out and it's not unusual to see Phil's game go south at the drop of a hat, he is fun to watch

If either happen, Oosthuizen is nicely placed to win this major. He missed a couple of short putts yesterday, which is uncharacteristic. I'd like to see Phil win this, I was never a fan, but warmed up to his swashbuckling style. If any other 50 year old was in contention, it would be a massive story, but in Phil's case it doesn't seem that outrageous, he still has the best short game on the planet.
As a footnote: Ontario's golf courses finally reopened yesterday after being shut down again due to covid...........

This course and final round looks amazingly tough
Should be great viewing
Just out of interest jrgbfc what don't you like about Mickelson?
I've always thought he comes across as a likable guy

Beautiful course to look at, lovely weather, normal crowds with no masks, great pictures from SKY.
Only ruined by their abject commentary team

It's looking good for Mickelson coming down the home stretch, however he has just dropped a couple of shots to give the rest of the field a sniff.

Yes he held it together down the finish line and nobody really got close enough to put him under severe pressure.
Intriguing that the longest course in major championship history has produced the oldest winner, so much for all these young bucks who said they could tame these monsters.

Good to see Phil pull off the win today! I wasn't sure he could bring it home considering his history of exploring all parts of the course

An interesting statistic though, a good number of somewhat what older(more experienced) players had a high finish.....Oosty, Casey, Harrington, Lowry, Rose. A Pete Dye designed track will make the player think his way around rather than "grip it and rip it"
