Anthony Martial on loan?
Anthony Martial on loan?
He wants a move from United but no interest as yet. I would have him at Burnley for remainder of this season, especially as we will have a fixture backlog and it would put him in the shop window after he has banged a few in for us.

Or are there 2 Anthony Martial?

He'd be an excellent signing. Problem is we wouldn't have a chance of getting him.

Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
Whilst he's undoubtedly a very talented player we're well below the level of club that he's seeking a move to.
Amusingly there used to be a clause in his transfer deal, if he won the Ballon d'Or before 2019, Monaco got a big chunk of money, £7 million ish

We'd still have absolutely no chance of getting him. Firstly because he wouldn't come here and, secondly, because we couldn't afford him.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 12:10 pmWreck it Ralf has said nobody has been in for him yet.
Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
I seem to remember him scoring at least a couple of quality goals against us.
Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
It’s not as daft a suggestion as you may think. Several of our players are probably his neighbours in Cheshire and it would be an ideal loan move for him to resurrect his career. Or let’s just look at realistic targets like that big lump Kiefer Moore?
Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
He's on £250k a week and apparently United would want £6m for half season loan fee.
We need to look at players that we could sign.
Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
Not banking on this one coming off, I must admit. Suspect the link with Atletico Madrid is more realistic.
Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
Aye, but if Atletico falls through, we must be next on his list.

Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
If it's 6m without any wages I would say yes.
Having pace for the long ball passers to aim for would be brilliant when we are under pressure.

His song from us could be
Tony Martial comes from Manc
Uptheclarets posters said he had no chance
It will be six million plus wages down the drain
Tony Martial scores again

Why don’t we see if we can get Ronaldo as well. Maybe even Pogba?
Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
I cannot recall those two putting in a transfer request? You are just trying to be clever now and failing miserably.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 1:12 pmWhy don’t we see if we can get Ronaldo as well. Maybe even Pogba?

Who would be your ideal transfer targets then, bearing in mind we will probably be playing twice a week from January until the end of the season?Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 1:15 pmWhy not? There just as likely to happen as Martial coming to Burnley

Well Ashley Barnes couldn’t give em a lift in his Mercedes Vito minibus anymore since he had to surrender his drivers licence

Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
He might not.
He can only say no. Not the end of the world but you might as well ask.
I didn't think Bolton could sign Jay Jay Okocha or Blackburn Shearer?
Football is a strange game when you offer the right money.

At last a bit of sense. If you don’t ask you have no chance of getting. And Martial would certainly enhance our squad for the remainder of the season.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 3:54 pmHe might not.

Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
My problem with this suggestion is how in gods name are we supposed to finance a deal like that? Let’s say he’s on 250k a week that’s 6m for a 6 month loan. Then if United want a loan fee on top off that you could be talking the best part of 10-11m on one player for 6 months.

he's way too lazy to play at the top level, he'd bring his bed and have a sleep in a relegation fight

Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
I would be surprised if he is on 12m a year, but if we brought one superstar in at 6m for the remainder of the season.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 4:44 pmMy problem with this suggestion is how in gods name are we supposed to finance a deal like that? He scores goals that win games. He keeps us up. Earns us an extra 10m in place money moving us up 5 places.
Puts another 3k back on the gates.
Sells shirts and increases media interest in the club.
You can see why clubs would want to take the risk.

Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
Not that I think for a second that we could sign Martial but I agree completely with this reasoning as to why it could make sense commercially. It could easily pay for itself.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 6:00 pmI would be surprised if he is on 12m a year, but if we brought one superstar in at 6m for the remainder of the season.

Generally I don’t like loan signings - I’d rather we develop our own players - but in our position I think we should at least be exploring very ambitious ones like this. You’ve got to be in it to win it and the odd one might just come off.

Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
I doubt we'll sign Martial, and his record at Man U is about 1 in 3 in the Prem, which for an attacking side like them is fairly average, however it's undeniable that we lack genuine pace, and he'd certainly offer that, equally only 5 goals in 29 PL appearances since the start of the 20/21 season hardly suggests he's the answer to our goal scoring issues, especially if he's on crazy money, plus how would such a signing affect the rest of our squad, harmony is important particularly in the midst of a relegation fight.

I can’t believe we are having actual serious replies to Martial on loan.

Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
I really rate Martial. He has certainly lost his way at Man Utd as have most of the entire squad.
I’m guessing he would relish the chance to revive his career in the Premiership, especially with Cornet alongside him.It may even help to change Woodys luck.
So yes get him on loan see what happens .

Maitland Niles is going to cost Roma 0.5m loan fee with an option to buy for 12m.
We might be over exaggerating Martials cost.

There is absolutely zero chance this deal would happen for a long list of reasons

Re: Anthony Martial on loan?
Well Martial isn't even in the Man U squad tonight, so it appears he's going somewhere in Jan, even if it isn't Burnley.
