Re: Betis-Utd
Utd are short striker wise, and I guess the real test for Weghorst is whether he'll still be considered 1st choice when the likes of Martial are fit again.

Weghorst certainly manages to get himself in good portions and then miss an awful amount of times.

Nobody ever passes to Weghy

Re: Betis-Utd
I still couldn't predict whether Ten Bag'll snap him up. He's a real enigma is our Wout.

Re: Betis-Utd
1000% he goes.
No way he starts every game & then gets sent back here. Our issue will be getting the best fee we can without taking the **** and messing up a deal.
They’ll want shut of Martial but won’t be able to afford to buy two forwards (unless takeover deal is done imminently).

I saw a Hull fan last night on the telly in the stands with just a t-shirt on. I think one of our backroom staff members had short sleeves on too. It looked bloody cold though with the rain and all the wooly hats.LONDONCLARET23 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 7:08 pmPapabendi who sometimes posts on here is in the United end and says its 26C there!

Re: Betis-Utd
He’s starting every game because he’s their only match fit centre forward.
Martial has been injured since about 2 weeks after Wout arrived

I'm not sure about that he's just reached the quarter-finals of a European competition, with every prospect of Utd going all the way.
Added to that he picked up the League Cup recently, plus Utd are still in the FA Cup with a good chance of progressing.

I was more referring to how many times he expressed his displeasure at not receiving a pass from his team mates when in space, tiger. Threw his arms up in the air complaining tonight several times, occasionally turning to stare at Ten Hag when a team mate hadn’t passed. Didn’t look happy from what I saw.

Well in fairness if he's making the runs to create space, and then not receiving the passes I can fully understand his annoyance.NewClaret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 9:53 pmI was more referring to how many times he expressed his displeasure at not receiving a pass from his team mates when in space, tiger. And the one big chance he should have buried he fluffed again.
There is a clinical finisher there as the World Cup aptly demonstrated, unfortunately for us and Man Utd he doesn't do it often enough I'm afraid.

Which one was that tiger? I only watched second half. The one Sancho knocked back & he snatched at?tiger76 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 10:00 pmWell in fairness if he's making the runs to create space, and then not receiving the passes I can fully understand his annoyance.

His runs are very good. He pulls defenders away, then stops. The fast players run in to the space he creates but he’s typically static at this point and/or offside and never gets it back. Occasionally he was in acres of space and players took the shot on.
When Rashford scored I could see Weghorst was about to go mad again and then saw it was a top strike and goal. Didn’t celebrate, or join Rashford. Somethings not quite right there but hopefully his ego will mean he doesn’t want to come back here. His play is very good but as you say, simply not clinical enough for our needs.

Re: Betis-Utd
In the unlikely event of Burnley meeting Utd at any stage then I'd hope he wouldn't be allowed to play, however we have no idea what is in his loan agreement.AfloatinClaret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 10:32 pm![]()

At best he'll get a losers medal in that, should have stayed with us if he wanted to lift the FA Cup. Actually if they do get to meet us at Wembley will Wout be allowed play in the game anyway?
