He’s absolutely right when he said he looked into the stands at WBA away on a Wednesday night and thought “these are the real fans”.

It’s far too easy for anyone now to act like a fan, go on Twitter and put MUFC in your bio and change your picture to Bruno Fernandes and suddenly you’re a Man United fan.

I’ll never respect Glory seeker fans and their football opinion deep down, I think it’s truly wrong we have people born and raised in Burnley whilst claiming to support other clubs.

I think it goes against everything football is, being proud of where you’re from and the tribalism aspect.

I couldn’t be looked upon as a glory hunter - a crap finder if anything - having started around 82/3.

I wouldn’t change it for the world but I do think that I missed out to a degree by not supporting a local team (even though it’s only 22 miles from my house to Turf Moor).

The camaraderie that develops in your younger years, by going to matches with mates who all support the same team, is something that I wish I’d had. As it was, I didn’t know of another Burnley fan until I went to upper school.

Saying all of that, going to the football with my Dad and when he ‘came of age’ my Brother, was and continues to be time that I can’t put a value on. Last season being another set of great memories that I’ll cherish for the rest of my days.

It is a little different being an outsider supporting a club but I can assure anyone that whilst I may not be from Burnley, I’m as passionate about the club as a lifelong fan who can see Turf Moor from their front door.

I was speaking more about the Man United/Liverpool fans born and raised in a town like Burnley. I don't think any Burnley fan can be considered a glory seeker and I don't consider non local BFC fans any different to those born local.
