If you could turn the clock back to last season

Post by Carwin261 » Sun Nov 05, 2023 5:18 pm

If you could turn the clock back to last season, would you have settled for finishing in the top six and beaten Rovers over 2 legs but losing a play off final ,and then continuing where we left off this season?

With the benefit of hindsight, no.

No because we wouldn’t have continued where we left off, because we’d be minus Harwood-Bellis, Maatsen, Tella, and Barnes. There’s a strong chance we’d be minus Beyer as well.

The idea that we got promoted too soon and the plan was to actually go up this season was always a load of tripe.

No

We still wouldn’t have TBH, Maatsen or Tella and we probably wouldn’t have Beyer either

(As ksr said but quicker than I did  )

No. We get a whole load of cash this way.

From an enjoyment point of view, I'd rather we'd just run away with div 2, and were moving up the divisions with no var, and had had a decent chance of getting away tickets at forest green, Colchester and the like last year and some new grounds this year.

Of course, instead of being ****** off with losing to crystal palace, we'd have been moaning at not beating ramsgate away in the cup without a replay.

Absolutely not. Last season was utterly amazing and up there with the best I've ever known watching the Clarets. I actually think things went awry in the summer and between them the powers that be messed up the recruitment following promotion and I actually believe they will think so too by now, but I wouldn't change anything about last season. Wonderful stuff.

A lot of people saying no but I'm going to stick my neck out and say yes.

The only condition being that you give me time to write down the winning lottery numbers for the past 3 months before the clock gets turned back.

Possibly. This season is **** so far. Hate the football I’m seeing. What’s the point of going up to just totally give up.

Wouldn't change last season for anything. Not really bothered how this one turns out, it was that good.

Agree 100%, the only thing I'd change is having buy clauses inserted into certain loan players agreements.

Other than that no.

I hate the premier league, always have, but I did want to see if we could do it…. Part of me still thinks we can, I don't enjoy the prem at all though, doubt I ever will

Last season was astonishing really in so many ways, the style of football, the goals, the results. But it was all about getting back up which we achieved.

No thanks, I wouldn’t turn any clock back, I’m just hoping there is some improvement on the way this season. Being in the top league is where I want us to be.

Absolutely no way. Seeing us win the league at Deadwood was priceless. The 10 game winning run, the celebrations at boro the way we desmantled teams, the way we won games late, on were all unbelievable. Going up is what it’s about.

It’s frustrating getting beat every week (I despise it) and not showing much sign of improvement is disheartening. I’ve certainly let my emotions run away ranting at and straight after the games a few times. But it’s the top level and had we not gone up the current top 3 this year in the champ would be a whole bigger test than last time.
