Manager hat on

Post by 1914tyrone » Sat Feb 24, 2024 9:24 pm

We are all guilty of being in charge and thinking we know best
From our current squad, no hypothetical trips to if only.
The eleven you think we might as well try.
We've absolutely nothing to lose, if fit!

Muric
Vithino. Beyer. Ekdal. Taylor

Cullen. Cork

Benson. Larson

Jay. Foster

He’d rather put your mum in net rather than Muric only chance of him playing this season is if he is sacked, really sad situation we are in!

Same as I've wanted all season
433.
Muric
Assignon/Vitinho (depends if Assignon stays)
O'Shea/Beyer (when fit)
Esteve (Assuming it's permanent. Although would consider giving Beyer LCB, Ekdal RCB, Muric, 1-2 games as it worked well last year)
Taylor

Midfield 3 of Cullen, Berge then take your pick of JBG/Brownhill/Massengo. JBG for games where we don't need as much physicality and need more of a central playmaker to unlock teams, Brownhill or Massengo for when we need legwork and physicality. Although I would also actually consider Cork at this point, wouldn't have 5 months ago but now, I'd consider him in the deepest midfield role. Maybe give him a start with an eye to bring Cullen or Massengo on if his legs aren't up to it.

Wingers- Any two of Larsen/Benson/Odobert/Amdouni. Would probably start Larsen/Odobert and bring Benson on at the 55-60 minute mark regularly for Larsen, Amdouni around 65-75 for Odobert.

Fofana up top. Once Foster's fit, move Fofana wide for either winger.

Fast wingers, counter attacking play. Extra midfielder to safeguard us. Depending on who's in midfield you have either two box to box guys in Berge and Massengo/Brownhill, or you have a playmaker JBG with Berge being the box to box role trying to drive forward. Orthodox fullbacks who move up to support the wingers and offer an outside option. As much pace in the attacking 3 as possible, with wingers who are capable of scoring from distance as well to always provide a threat from the cut in. We're losing the possession battle constantly, this might give us a bit more of the ball but also give us the means to actually break fast and counter when under pressure, with a keeper who can pass to any zone of the pitch letting us transition quicker on top, and an extra central midfielder who can drop back to cover for if Beyer does his driving surge forwards.
