Beehole’s Monday Night Mini Scrapbook Quiz - 29th April 2024
Just a heads up for those that would like to join us for tonight's quiz.
Same format as usual and lots of extra points available for those that are quick off the mark.
I will post the questions on this thread at 9pm and then its everyone for themselves.
To play you must be logged in to Up the Clarets / Beehole End and type in your answers as a comment on the thread putting the QUESTION NUMBER followed by your ANSWER (ie 1k Eddie Cliff)
Just fire in your answers as soon as you spot one you know. If you take time to read all the questions before typing in your answers it is most likely others will have beaten you to it.
All points are for fun and there are no prizes
SOME people have requested the following:-
For those that prefer to do the quiz in their own time simply read the questions posted at 9pm and write down your answers on a sheet and give yourself a mark after I’ve posted the answers after 10-15pm.
If you do this please let me know your scores on the doors and any comments (even if it’s a day or two after) otherwise it’s not worth me spending time preparing the quiz.
I will be issuing a rating level based upon the points attained for those doing the quiz in their own time. I know people can google and mark their own sheets - no problem for me it’s just a bit of fun.

Superb addition to the forum, beeholeclaret.
From a personal point of view, I much prefer the second option.

Is it possible to include a picture quiz round, at some point, beehole ??
The references to the likes George Beel, Bob Kelly & Bert Freeman from 120 years ago this afternoon on the messageboard make it so important that we remember the great history of our Club.

Thank you Royboy and yes I’m open to suggestions. I’ll try to fathom the technology to post a few photo questions in future weeks. Maybe an end of season special would be good. I have plenty of archive material in my scrapbook.

Re: Beehole’s Monday Night Mini Scrapbook Quiz - 29th April 2024
Look forward to presenting and overseeing tonight's scrapbook quiz with a few teasers for older board members and some for those not quite as old.
Apologies but I am repeating this note from earlier to clarify - for those that prefer to do the quiz in their own time simply read the questions posted at 9pm and write down your answers on a sheet and give yourself a mark after I’ve posted the answers after 10-15pm.
If you do this please let me know your scores on the doors and any comments (even if it’s a day or two after) otherwise it’s not worth me spending time preparing the quiz.
I have issued below a rating level based upon the points attained for those doing the quiz in their own time. I know people can google and mark their own sheets - no problem for me it’s just a bit of fun.
I am hoping we still get a few LIVE challengers
ALL QUESTIONS WILL BE POSTED AT 9pm
To play log in and insert your 'comment' with QUESTION NUMBER followed by your ANSWER
(Example 1a Bob Kelly (for Royboy!)
Just fire in your answers as soon as you spot one you know. If you take time working out all the answers before posting it is likely others will have beaten you to it.
All points are for fun and there are no prizes –
55 points available tonight
NOTE for those doing the quiz in their own time the TARGET LEVELS TO AIM FOR ARE AS FOLLOWS;
45+ YOU HAVE ATTAINED EXPERT STATUS
35-44 YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF
20-34 PRETTY GOOD
0-19 KEEP TRYING
I will post all the questions and ANSWERS after the quiz is complete at around 10-15.

I was born in Glasgow in the 1940's and had trials at 3 clubs in the north west of England (namely Blackburn, Bolton & Preston) before signing for a club who had achieved success in the sixties and was to become even stronger in the seventies. I left thefull time professional game for a while but eventually claimed a place in the team in 1970 and went on to win league championship, FA Cup and EUFA cup winners medals. I joined Burnley at a time of struggles at Turf Moor and alongside Steve Kindon prompted an improvement in performances as the Clarets climbed away from the foot of the old second division in 1977-78. The following season my experience was put to good use as Burnley won the Anglo Scottish Cup.
As with previous “who am I’s” I had a nickname at my main club where I won major honours.
6a. My name (4 POINTS) …...................................................
6b. My nickname (1 POINT) ….................................................

all correct although Dingle Dangle just got in before you with Cook - also Mr Top Tier just got in before you with Harry Potts. 3 x 2 points = 6 points plus an excellent fun point with Brian Kettle.
