I can still picture that horrendous tackle, and for me, their DL has never gone away.
Horrible team.

I like this sentiment. They’d been Dirty Leeds for quite a while, but this sort of put the tin hat on it

Re: That was for Frank Casper
Once went to a sportsman’s dinner with that dirty chunt Norman was speaking. Anyway my dad’s hero along with dobbo was Casper. He told me to say something . Anyway after about 8 pints and mid his talk I stood up and sang there’s only one franky Casper.
He took it well to be fair and said he knew he’d get some **** in Burnley.
Glad I did it though

Re: That was for Frank Casper
I was at Elland Rd. that day too. Frank Casper probably at his very best; controlling the game against the champions elect on their own Turf. Hunter's assault was cowardly, they couldn't cope with Frank and the rest of the team so the message was sent out to Hunter to do exactly what he did. One challenge like that( and of course there were plenty of others he dished out) was enough to define the sort of thug Hunter was.

Re: That was for Frank Casper
Winning away games is always brilliant but at some grounds it’s even better. It doesn’t come close to Ewood of course but winning at Elland Road is one of those special places to win.

Re: That was for Frank Casper
I was there that day as well. Apart from the horrendous gbh on Casper (not even on the pitch!) I remember Bremner spitting at Doug Collins. Also on the Don Revie documentary, Revie called for someone to break Collins leg. So yes always good to beat them at ER.
Re: That was for Frank Casper
Frank was my favourite player at the time and he was never the same. Sad thing is it was premeditated. There are lots of things I like about Brian Clough but my favourite was his opinion of that Leeds team.

Yes, more’s the pity that Norman isn’t still around to observe the pleasure we all took from that stoical performance
Re: That was for Frank Casper
I was at the game. That Leeds team were a team of henchmen, who took revenge on any body who dared to stop them winning games, by fear of what they would get. Alan Clarke was another player who deviously, more than once stamped on Franks foot and spat in his face ( that was Frank telling me that), while play was elsewhere.

The dirtiest team ever, but brilliant at doing what their manager told them. Revie you horrible xxxxard. The only one that wasn't was Eddie Gray.
