Inchy - podcast
Bit of a long one but really good.
Loved his time here. Burnley chat starts about 1 hour 19 mins.

Loved watching him play.
Loved watching his team - but only when John Ward was working with him.

Chester away: my favourite ever Burnley goal. The pass from Eyres, the dropped touch from Inchy and the perfect finish into the postage stamp. Joyous.

Strange how he speaks now about Teasdale. Not what he said when he left. Really good player for us but hopeless as manager other than when John Ward was with us.

I was lucky enough to watch training at Gawthorpe during this period and suffice to say it was John Ward who was very much running the show. Inchy was little more than an interested spectator in the main.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 6:37 pmStrange how he speaks now about Teasdale. Not what he said when he left. I watch some of the old clips on YouTube of Inchy and wonder why today's super stars can't thread little balls through, like he did.

Just watched the YouTube clip ,If Inchy had taken notice of his wife and stayed at Burnley all the things that have happened since then would not have come about,we may have been in the Champions league or we could have been in the 4 th div ,

A fantastic player for us. As above the goal against Chester was class. He also scored once down the cricket field from almost the byline with the outside of his foot.

Re: Inchy - podcast
Didn’t he get sent off against Reading ? If I remember correctly we were losing and the ref blew for a free kick to Reading and he chipped the ball back to Hislop who let the ball go in the net so the ref booked him for the 2nd time for time wasting and sent him off .

I’m glad someone else remembers all the little bits of trivia that occasionally pops into my brain, sometimes I think I’ve dreamt it and then start to believe it’s true.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 7:19 pmHe did. Plus a sending off in the cup match away at Sheffield United.

Probably one of the only times in football two players with the same first name were sent off in the same incident.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 7:19 pmHe did. Plus a sending off in the cup match away at Sheffield United.
Heath was also sent off at Hartlepool once as well.

24 points from 24 games either side of Ward.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 6:43 pmI was lucky enough to watch training at Gawthorpe during this period and suffice to say it was John Ward who was very much running the show. Inchy was little more than an interested spectator in the main.

Great player for us. The goal at Chester was out of the top drawer. However, the one I remember most was the second at Bramall Lane in the FA cup 3rd round if only for getting crushed when it went in. That day is one of the best atmosphere's I've ever encountered in 65 years of watching the Clarets. Think we took 6k and it's more incredible because the match was only declared on an hour or so before kick off.

Re: Inchy - podcast
Inchy was a great player and two things stick in my mind about him. The goal at Sheff Utd remains one of the best goals I've seen in the flesh. An absolute peach! The second thing is the play off final vs Stockport. John Francis got injured early in the game and it looked like Graham Lancashire was going to replace him, but Heath walked over and spoke to Mullen. The next thing you know Andy Farrell comes on. Who knows how important that chat was in the grand scheme of things!!
Teasdale appointing him off the back of a Lancashire Telegraph poll says a lot. Can you imagine that happening these days

Re: Inchy - podcast
A great watch/listen and seems to have done really well in his coaching career in The US.
Re: Inchy - podcast
We had the whole of the end behind the goal, both upper and lower tiers, and we also had an area of the main stand at the far end to our right.ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 7:42 pmGreat player for us. Amazing following that day!
