8 clean sheets for Trafford

Post by Milltown1882 » Sun Nov 10, 2024 9:12 pm

Can moan about going forward all we want but that’s a fantastic effort by early November.

Bang on for 20+ clean sheets this season.

On other threads posters have referred to us as being a poor side.

Poor sides don't concede only six goals in their first fifteen league games.

8 Clean sheets for Scott Parker, our back 4, the GK and our defensive midfielders. In fact our very foundation that SP has built has kept those clean sheets. James Trafford has done well, But it is not just down to him. Well done Scott Parker

Good defensive sides only concede 6 goals in 15, but if you don't score at the other end you are not winning anything. We are best team in league by far upto final 3rd, but can't score or make chances to score.

Correct
But, it was Traffords fault we let in goals last year apparently, no mention of poor defence or badly set up teams then
You can't have it both ways

That will be the area of our play that gradually improves as the season progresses.

Let's hope you're right. There's a lot of scope for improvement in our attacking play and chance creation.

Same goal difference and one point better off after 15 games compared with 2022-23

If we had scored the same and conceded the same as 2022-23 the only complaint would be about Trafford letting in too many

some are already trying to blame Traffords distribution...

What a positive thread! Well done Trafford and the back 4 they look almost unbeatable at the minute.I was actually feeling a lot more positive after the last two games, but after reading all the negativity on here it makes me embarrassed to be associated with a lot of our fans.So kudos to the op!

Lets hope that we now go on a 22 game unbeaten run like 2 years ago. As for Trafford, in the main, he's had nowt to do
That's why he isn't in the list of top performing keepers.

Agreed. I'd prefer to be in a position where we're strong at the back and winning by only one goal with improvement needed in attack, than scoring loads but losing the game by one with improvement needed at the back.

Excellent thread ...and I have to agree...not conceding is the basis of success. I'm still worried that we may not get into the habit of scoring but I've seen enough defeats in my life to be entirely opposed to the type of excitement that comes from losing 6-5 or 7-4 (or even 2-1 for that matter). Trafford has always played in a Burnley team that tries to play possession based football. The difference this season is that we actually keep possession for the most part.

That's also a backline that features just one player over the age of 23 (Connor Roberts), which is sensational and should be commended.

Precisely how I look at it.
