You can't say BURNLEY (as I assume that we can be blinded by our love for our team).
Must play in England's top four divisions
Must be based on the matches played, style of football used, rather than the fact that it's the town team of where your Great Uncle Kenneth was born.

Simply name your:

If you wish to give a very short explanation to justify each selection, then that's great.

I don't particularly enjoy watching other teams but us, but I'm liking Liverpool
this season because they're denying City and that turd Arteta at Arsenal
any joy.
Apart from that, nowt springs to mind.

1. Brentford - I really like the direct, high tempo stuff they play, with everyone attacking the box as much as possible.
2. Brighton - they move the ball around well and then attack quickly when a bit of space appears
3. Newcastle - Eddie Howe has got some really powerful athletes up there and got them attacking more directly than he tried with us

Sorry (but not sorry) but Man City play the best football and it's what other teams want to play like.

My mate the Exeter ST holder would have words with you!
Re: Which three teams (over the last 3 years) have you particularly enjoyed watching.
Must admit I haven't seen much lower league football, so going off tv, can only think of enjoying watching some games from
Aston Villa
Liverpool
Cant say I've enjoyed watching any team in paticlar.

1. Ipswich. They were excellent against us in the cup 2 years ago, considering they were a League 1 side at the time. Probably gave us one of the hardest games of our promotion season which says a lot about the quality of McKenna. Was rooting for them to go up instead of dirty Leeds.
2-3. Newcastle and Villa. Breath of fresh air seeing them gatecrash the Top 6, although I don’t approve of Saudi ownership and would be dismayed if it were my club. Emery is a fantastic coach and treated v harshly at Arsenal.
And although it was only 3 teams, and from England, I’ve got to mention Atalanta. Gasperini continues to work wonders, despite regularly losing his best players. This is probably his 3rd or 4th squad of players since taking over in 2016. Lookman has been a revelation, and I enjoyed seeing them demolish the all conquering Leverkusen in the Europa final.

I have a mate who coaches at Exeter, he would understand that it's a strange divide between Torquay and Exeter, almost like a line has been drawndougcollins wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 9:53 pmMy mate the Exeter ST holder would have words with you!

Not sure over 3 years but Bournemouth, Villa and Spurs have all been good to watch recently.

Interesting question, never really thought about it. I don't tend to watch Premier League football when we're not in it. I watch some championship football but of course you see less of championship teams on TV generally so it's hard to say.
But maybe Newcastle and Ipswich. Bristol City due to family ties.

Burnley (2/3 of a season)
Liverpool - very exciting and incisive on the break.
Everton - because they have Clarets not that they play well.

Brentford are probably the only team I would make an effort to watch on TV.
I will watch some of the games on sky but there are very few teams enjoyable to watch.

Re: Which three teams (over the last 3 years) have you particularly enjoyed watching.
This is a great question but for me it's zero.
I'm just finding myself falling out of love with football.
I used to watch every game possible but not anymore.
Don't get me wrong, I do put it on the TV but It's becoming a bit of background noise for me while doing other tasks.
I've never found myself looking at my phone as much as I do these days while the football is on.

I can't possibly comment as I don't have a Great Uncle Kenneth.

I’ve only had two other teams that I’d go out of my way to watch and neither are in the last 3 years.
Bobby Robsons’ Ipswich side with the Dutch lads in it.
Ron Atkinsons Baggies with Cunningham and Regis.
Superb football from both.

I really liked that West Brom team. They had some excellent "none-stars" such as Statham, Wile, Batson, the Browns and Len Cantello.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 2:48 pmI’ve only had two other teams that I’d go out of my way to watch and neither are in the last 3 years.

Merthyr town
Grimsby town
Boston United.
The unauthorised West brom answer above, though, made me think that the thread could be split so that we could pick sides from the past like that. I'd love to be able to watch some teams from the past, preferably in the authentic grounds. I'd pick, in no particular order:-
1. The maidstone first season in the league team, which was so fun to watch. Beeney, Warren Barton, golley, smoky and butler up front. That side should have gone straight up.
2. The Brighton team from 1977/8/9 under mullery with peter ward, lawrenson and Eric potts. 4-4-2 at its best - and I'd expect my dad back to watch it with me.
3. The Everton side that won two titles in three years and who would have gone on to win the European Cup had it not been for the behaviour of the victim fans over the park getting us all banned. Southall, van den hauwe and Ratcliffe all doubling up for Wales, the most perfect midfield 4, strikers including lineker, inchy heath, Andy gray (not ours) and the really underrated graeme sharp. They just played some orgasmic football.

The only other team I watch with a bit of regularity is Blackpool and they have not been good to watch since Critchley's first spell in charge, which ended back in 2022.

1. Stevenage - 10 minutes to get there, 10 minutes home + a Promotion season to boot
2. Ipswich - Got to the Premier League on all out front foot football much like Burnley did in the Championship under Kompany
3. Luton - Against the odds , got to the Premier League . Another small town upsetting the big boys.
