Are you excited about tonight's game?

Post by ecc » Fri Dec 06, 2024 1:15 pm

I am even though, as per usual, I won't be there.

Night games are always special and we're now well into the season. The fact it's on TV will reduce the number of our fans on the Turf but there should be a great atmosphere.

Boro, apart from one match, have been banging the goals in.

Tonight will be a test. But there'll be another 27 games after this one and there'll be a lot more tests for our lads.

100%, full feel good atmosphere going with recent results and we look like we’re clicking.

Two sides in really good form. Reminiscent of the Dyche v Karanka days, should be a great game.

Got the usual pregame butterflies. Weird that I still get them thirty years after I stopped playing, as though I’ll be personally lacing up my boots in a few hours.

First for a while that I've been genuinely excited for. A tough test. But a big game on the Turf under the lights is always something to look forward to, especially on a Friday night with hopefully a decent atmosphere.

SP, his staff and the squad have worked incredibly hard to get us thus far and, yes, create a "big match" feeling. Don't get me wrong, I look forward to every Burnley fan but it's easier to do so when we're winning.

I hope the crowd are up for it and give SP and the lads a great reception.

Yes should be a good one. Have sold my seats given the distance and storm forecast, just too impractical to get there, but was tempted. Biggest game of the season so far at home if we ignore derbies.

Yep. All credit to SP, his staff and squad. There seems to be a feel good factor building not too dissimilar to that of VK's first season. Maybe a touch more measured in comparison. But really nice to see and great for the fans.

I always think time for the singing section to have a couple of beers pre match on a weekend probably helps the atmosphere. Not a fan of Sunday matches for that reason. Friday night adds to the excitement I think.

Yes, 100% up for it tonight and hope the crowd are going to fully back the team and make some noise.

Atmosphere has been spoken about plenty this season and who's responsible for that, but I think it's on the fans to be right behind the team from the start tonight. Win tonight and I think that's big statement going into a tough run of games.

Think it may be 1-1…but go too with a win…big incentive there

I'm nervous cause to me it's the first game now we are more settled that will tell us where we are in comparison with the better teams.

I also hope the crowd get up for it tonight and don't jump on them as I feel tonight we are going to have to be very patient

We’ll get some kind of idea of how good we are and what we’ll be playing for come May, be that Automatic or the Playoffs. A win will send us into the busy Christmas period full of confidence.

These score freely so if we make a mockery of them, we are on for promotion

Very much so, a chance to go top and stretch our lead.
The team as a whole appear to be improving and gelling nicely. Cullen, and recently Rodriguez, a lot to do with that.

Very excited but sadly the wife booked tickets for a Simon & Garfunkel tribute act so I will be recording it and also switching the phone off ! Middlesbrough supporters don’t really care for us so I’m hoping that our current run of form continues - nothing better than sending “entitled” fans home with nothing !

Absolutely excited. Shame the weather may play a huge part in proceedings, but Sky must be rubbing their hands. Two in form teams. One gives nowt away, the other playing open footy and scoring pretty freely. Very big following for Boro, some of whom I've already chatted to. Should be a great atmosphere.

Watched Boro against Rovers and they were awful. Can only assume they had a big time off night. Think they did have a number of injuries though. We will need to be at our best to win and extra pressure on us to go top

Why do I feel this game is massive. Is it a throw back to previous promotion seasons and late winners?

Because it IS massive. It's not going to totally define either team's season, but in terms of where they both are right now, it's absolutely huge. The biggest game of the season (so far) barring the derby against Rovers.

They've got the cup ready to present to Boro if they win this
