Why was Trafford dropped against Cardiff?

Post by jdrobbo » Fri Jan 31, 2025 11:25 pm

Just how close was he to leaving?

Did Parker just want to ‘have a look’ at Hladky?

Was rotation a serious consideration?

Feels a bit wild when looked back on in isolation.

Perhaps there were bids on the table and Parker felt he wasn’t focused. Or maybe he was just injured or ill and as such not available for selection.

He was close to a Newcastle move wasn't he?

Was he on the bench for that game?

If he was, then maybe Parker just wanted to look at Hladky in a competitive game.

If he wasn't, then as Rileybobs suggested, he was left out until we knew he was staying for the time being.

Parker wasn't afraid to take this stance at the game at Sunderland.

I thought he was 'ill' ?

Etienne Green was on the bench and Traff came back in for the next match.

Pretty sure he was just ill...

Don’t be worried. Was just a thought: a lot has happened since then. Was just something that came to mind.

According to Tony's match report, both Zaroury and Trafford were ill.

Parker definitely said in his post match interview that he was ill.

I'd sway towards there was serious interest in him and we thought he might go.

Must have been a strange illness, was out in Manchester late-on, night before game with his pals.
