Post by chorleyhere » Sun Apr 20, 2025 7:24 pm

Is it correct that we can bring flags on the Turf for Easter Monday game?

Anything is okay tomorrow, including Chico and a dog troupe. Even a drummer.

A drummer definitely isn't okay.

As long as it isn't bigger than a wafer biscuit or something.

As long as it has been approved by the club’s operations team who have not been approving those handed out by the club last year.

Tomorrow could go 2 ways. Party from the start or nervous and tense both in the stands and on the pitch. let's hope it's the former.

Still got the big, noisy, heavy duty WW2 one I've had for about 80 years.
Used to take it on every match when 'ar were a lad'

I'm going for, Japanese admiral suit, luminous stilts, 1950s motorcycle helmet and a claret and blue trombone.

Don't need any tinpot gimmicks today. Tell the idiot with the microphone to tone it down a bit and just let the fans create an atmosphere.

Tromboning isn’t allowed on the turf!

Agree can't stand the bloke with the microphone. However the atmosphere hasn't been exactly electric from us to be fair!

We have 3 chances to go up, this one, the next 2 games, and the play offs.

For that reason I would hope the fans get loudly behind us throughout. I know I will be. No need for nerves. No need for negativity.

Let’s get this done today at home. Rather than away in 2016 at Charlton or in 2023 against Boro / Rovers.

We were already up in 2016, we did that against QPR? at home.

Similarly, we beat Wigan to get promoted at Turf Moor in 2014, 11 years ago to the day I think when Barnes scored that goal that came all the way through the team starting from Heaton.

Yes that’s right, I was referring to titles as well as promotions hence including Rovers. The last promotion and the last two titles were both won away.

The Charlton one was a weird one, I was in the away end and we were only 2 clear of a pair of clubs, but because they played each other we were up against QPR as you say.

It'll be loud before kick off
It'll be loud if we go 1 up with the usually 'champions again ole ole or you've seen the Burnley now.....'
It'll be silence if they draw level or we go a goal behind, we never get behind them when we are losing it's embarrassing

Away games are very different to home games in that regard. Friday was superb but that's typical away from home.
