QPR forum comments on the game

Post by Steddyman » Sun Apr 27, 2025 12:08 am

There are some cracking comments about our performance on the QPR match thread: https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/ ... 323/page:1

For example:

"**BURNLEY MATCH THREAD** on 19:07 - Apr 26 by E17hoop

The gap between them and us can be summed up in terms of value of players. Their keeper cost them £17.3m - probably more than the entire value of our first team.

Best team performance I've seen at our place for a long long time - they were outstanding."
----
Yes they were very good. That really could have been 8 or 9. Even the goalie played like Franz Beckenbauer.
But then they were only really playing against 8 men - Madsen, Dembele and Ashby all should have been hooked after 20 mins.
Ashby - 0-4 down at home and tries a flashy back heel. Jesus Fckin Christ.

Beat WBA 3-2 after being 0-2 down. Rodney Marsh in their team and scored a goal.

That's absolutely true.

However, does the same bloke recall Redknapp spending silly money the club didn't even have back when we were both going for promotion in 2013/14?

Three of us went in the home end , they were very complementary of our club , wouldn’t call any of them yuppies just ordinary folk supporting their club .
It looked like a premiership club versus championship and I’ve never seen that before from any Burnley team .
Next year is a massive jump up but we definitely have a better management team this time around , I’ve bought 3 season tickets something I haven’t done for about 5 years .
I led it at QPR , nice little club ,just about 15 years behind us.

Irrelevant I suppose in the sense we're not going to play them next season

Swindon beat Arsenal 3-1 in 1969, after beating Burnley in the semi-final. And you were playing for Swindon. Thought you'd have remembered.

Ive known a fair number of Rs supporters in my various dwelling places around UK, including a fair smattering where I live now. None of them bear any resemblance to "yuppies"
I'd say they're very similar to Clarets fans in general (and all very fond of that 1972/3 season and Dave Thomas).

Remember when we played Man United shortly after they had paid over £50 million pounds for Di Maria and that was probably more than we had didn’t in our entire history !

TmYou are right. QPR far from yuppies. Good working class club in West London.

3 season pockets? Have developed 2 more bums or just got really large? :o
