So why wasn't it announced on 90 minutes?
Neal was going apopleptic with the 4th official.

Re: Added time
The only thing I could think of at the time was to not give a timing prompt to any potential pitch invasion from the stands.

Re: Added time
I had always assumed it was an FA directive for the 4th Official to hold up the board on 90 minutes.
I noticed from the highlights programme that it happened at other EFL games.
It certainly looked like Neal hadn't been told in advance.

Re: Added time
Yep I reckon the referee wanted to keep it quiet on safety grounds. Sensible imo. I cannot believe the benches were not aware.
Holding the board up is competition rules nothing to do with the laws of the game, so the governing body can relax it....reckon it would have been agreed long before ko.

Yep, that was my take on it - but Neal was definitely acting like he was unaware.turfytopper wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 7:30 pmYep I reckon the referee wanted to keep it quiet on safety grounds. Sensible imo. I cannot believe the benches were not aware.

Re: Added time
I thought he, or his fourth, had told the managers? No board had gone up and nothing on screen from sky but SP definitely signalled in 4 to a player.
