The squad value challenge we face

Post by Corway » Mon May 05, 2025 8:34 am

Squad values usually reflect league position on Transfermarkt (figures in euros)

This year we were highest in the Championship with a value of €195m with Leeds near to us and Sunderland and Sheffield on 140 (Luton bucked the trend

In contrast the bottom 3 PL teams thus year had values of 225 with Fulham and Everton nearest 100 m higher

Last year we were third bottom on 277m and should have stayed up

If we lose Trafford Esteve CJ and Brownhill that’s 75m gone leaving us on 120

We’re going to largely depend on loans and out of contract players to get anywhere near 277 never mind 350.

Looks like we’re to be a yo-yo club without a wealthy donor or excellent youth set up

Yes will be interesting if they are promoted as it was for Luton last summer.

Yes
Surprising to hear they have doubts over Piroe's suitability for the top-flight and want a centre forward.
