Ridiculous. Along with Liverpool and Celtic, they’re the best behaved fans in the world.

Or so they’d have you believe.

Will German clubs fans ever see the inside of the Turf again?

I was in a meeting at the Turf a few days after the Hannover half a game. Two senior members of staff said that as long as they were at the club there would be no future visits from German clubs for friendlies.

What a ridiculous statement for them to make. Blaming and persecuting an entire country for the actions of a few meatheads is gross stupidity, especially when more could have been done to prevent it from happening in the first place.

Almost EVERYONE in east Lancashire knew (due to claims made on social media) that Hanover were coming “mobbed up”.

The club failed to react to the information and went ahead with sharing the CFS. Huge mistake. The person responsible for that decision, or failing to make a decision should have paid for that mistake with his/her job.

The police failed to react to the same information - unforgiveable really considering the time and resources at their disposal. The head of match policing should have paid for that mistake with his/her job.

Only luck prevented a tragedy on that day.

The Lazio game has the same potential, especially considering Roma (Lazio’s main and fierce rivals) are also travelling to the north west on the same day.

How this isn’t being ‘event managed’ beggars belief tbh.

Agree. And if something happens (which obviously we hope won’t) hindsight will be a wonderful thing. Except in this case and the previous we have foresight!

And the most laughable thing of all. Burnley fans were punished for their actions that day.

I don’t remember their fans being arrested or charged. But I may be wrong.

I do remember several Burnley fans who were simply defending themselves were.
