RIP Ozzy.
Saw him at Donnington in ‘86, probably at his peak then.

Absolutely gutted about this. I loved Sabbath and his solo stuff, but he'd been ill for some time.

Absolute legend. Saw him first at Leeds Queens Hall around 1982 and Leeds University and Donnington. A true character with some great music.

Never a fan of his music or the genre as a whole but he certainly was a character. The world needs more characters, his TV 'reality show' was hilarious

Re: Ozzy
His son Jack does a fair few. I found "The Osbournes Want to Believe" pretty interesting. Ozzy came out with some belting comments.exilecanada wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 7:49 pmNever a fan of his music or the genre as a whole but he certainly was a character. Re: Ozzy
Bloody hell.
First live band for me, Black Sabbath, St George's Hall, Bradford.
1974.
Sabbath were the absolute pioneers, nothing like them before, nothing better since.

Re: Ozzy
the first six sabbath albums are some of the best in rock.
some of his solo stuff was special too. was just listening to tribute to randy rhoads the other day.
now behind the wall of sleep.

Re: Ozzy
One of my favourite bands back at school in the 70's, Sabbath...
I thought he look reasonably well and active at the concert a couple of weeks back.

Re: Ozzy
Surprised they were introduced as Ozzy Osbourne, probably for American audience. It was a full Black Sabbath line-up.Sutton-Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 8:22 pmRecently watched his stint at Live Aid for the first time - never really been a fan of that kind of music but what a performance - been listening to his stuff ever since. Re: Ozzy
Sabbath the only band I can think who pretty much kept the same line up . Despite being a shambling physical wreck for 25 yrs he ( remarkably) kept a great vocal and live performance. A true god of rock .

Re: Ozzy
After leaving uni in 2005, my first job was at an alarm receiving centre. Our job was to phone rich people when their burglar alarm went off during the night.
Once, at around 3AM, a 'Mrs S Osbourne' hit the screens at an address in the Midlands. Acting fast, I jumped on it and called the number.
After a few rings, a chap who was clearly Ozzy answered sounding quite groggy (probably not because it was 3AM, more because he was Ozzy Osbourne). I then informed him that his alarm was going off and that I could only speak to the key holder, a Mrs S Osbourne.
He suddenly shouted into the distance, "SHARRROOOOONNN!! ALARM'S GOING OFF AGAIN!!! BLOKE HERE NEEDS TO SPEAK TO YOU!!!"
Then, as we waited for her to come to the phone, we briefly chatted and he asked me what I was doing up at 3AM.
When I replied that I was at work, he said, "What? At this time?" and I've often wondered just what he thought was happening before he knew I was at work. Like, who did he think I was??
And now I'll never get to ask him. RIP to a legend!

Re: Ozzy
Indeed , especially through Ozzy’s “ solo years “ but I was more pertaining to the fact that they( the band ) were both alive and could /would play together right up until OO’s demise . For a band formed in the late 60’s and the lifestyles they lived , that was pretty impressive .

Re: Ozzy
Created One of the best TV moments of all time. Whilst having an argument with his next door neighbour about rubbish being thrown over the fence. The neighbour sent over some stuff, Ozzy returned all of it but wasn’t finished, he went inside and came out with a massive Ham joint and chucked that over as well! With Sharon screaming in the background “Ozzy! That is our Sunday Dinner” hilarious

Re: Ozzy
First time I saw Ozzy and Sabbath was in 1970 at the Kings Head in Romford. Essex. For those who know about "old money" I think it cost me around 8 shillings. I remember drinking pints of Newcastle Brown before the gig started. They played the track Paranoid slightly offkey before blowing everyone away with their set. The vinyl LP Paranoid is an absolute classic and I still play it a lot. It really stood out when it was released and still hasn't dated.
RIP Ozzy. Thankyou for such a great LP. What a career you have had and what a great performer.
