Re: ARTICLE: Wednesday on Saturday
With 14/15 players departing Sheffield Wednesday and no incomings never was the phrase “down to the bare bones” seemingly more appropriate.

Re: ARTICLE: Wednesday on Saturday
Parker said after the game at Huddersfield that we’d be doing the same and having two games the following weekend.

Stokes’ home game last Saturday was streamed. Hopefully we’ll get access this Saturday.

All behind closed doors - I don’t think they dare let anyone in

I suspect you're right there Tony ....an unhappy fanbase at present and who can blame them...
Re: ARTICLE: Wednesday on Saturday
Match has been cancelled due to the ongoing issues at Wednesday. Players have apparently gone on strike.

From the article below:
It’s understood that Burnley had offered to pay for the hotels of Wednesday figures as part of the agreement that would have seen the run-out kick-off earlier to facilitate the host club’s plans.

Re: ARTICLE: Wednesday on Saturday
I desperately hope there is a resolution for Sheff Weds very soon, and one that gets that dreadful man out of there. Such a great and historic club being destroyed.
Re: ARTICLE: Wednesday on Saturday
Apparently the players have been told that the Club will not be arranging overnight accommodation prior to their 1st league game at Leicester and in response the players are considering booking and paying for their own accommodation.

I hadn’t realised things had gotten so bad. Imagine having to pay to stay in Leicester.

Re: ARTICLE: Wednesday on Saturday
Don’t really need to stay overnight in Leicester,it’s only 60 odd miles down the M1 from Sheffield.
Re: ARTICLE: Wednesday on Saturday
Yes, especially as it's a 4.30pm KO but in normal circumstances most teams would probably still stay overnight.Robbie_painter wrote: ↑Thu Jul 31, 2025 6:00 pmDon’t really need to stay overnight in Leicester,it’s only 60 odd miles down the M1 from Sheffield.

I wonder if we have alternative opponents for our "second string team" at Gawthorpe on Saturday

Re: ARTICLE: Wednesday on Saturday
Reports this morning that the game is off because the players are refusing to play!
Re: ARTICLE: Wednesday on Saturday
Unless the club has anticipated this happening and contacted a local club also carrying a bloated squad I suspect we'll just have the Stoke game.

Are you running a coach for them, Leisure?

It’s not ideal is it? But there was always this risk with Sheffield Wednesday.warksclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jul 31, 2025 10:18 pmI wonder if we have alternative opponents for our "second string team" at Gawthorpe on Saturday

Re: ARTICLE: Wednesday on Saturday
Surely we send our primary squad to Stoke, and the others have a training match against each other now?
