Nice message and the best of luck to him, wherever that may be.

He’d have been useful this season, more so next, if we don’t survive, but I do think it’s probably the right time to move on, for him and for us.

It’s probably fair to say that he’s divided opinion, certainly at Premier League level, but whatever side of that debate, I don’t think anyone would question his contribution and character.

Hopefully he gets the move that he’s after.

Gutted that he's leaving, but I can completely understand his motivation.
Good luck Josh and thanks for the memories

He says he wants to challenge himself, so presumably another PL Club or one of the other top leagues in Europe.

Good timing to bury it under the Trafford news when that gets announced later.

Gave us a lot of good times, hopefully the move isn’t Leicester and he does actually challenge himself.

Been great for us overall and enjoyed watching him. Outstanding in the Championship not quite so good in the PL. The challenging himself bit will be all about where the money is though.

A blow for us and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

His best position in the Premier League, and one I don't think we've ever seen him play enough, is as third central midfielder liberated to get into the box and make attacking runs and lead the press. It would have been interesting to see him play that role under Parker.

But equally, he'd never quite cracked the Premier League so it's possible this is in part motivated by an honest conversation with Parker about how integral he'd be to this season's plans.

Either way, it's a big hole that is, as yet, unfilled.

To a new project where he can challenge himself and grow. Not sure what that means and why he couldn’t challenge himself and grow at Burnley, but there you go. Up to him. He did well for us, and we move on.

Good luck to the lad wherever he goes. Now we need to sign a good center forward and let Flemming play in his preferred number 10 role.

Quality statement from a quality player and person. Good luck for the future Josh

If anyone asks about Dyche criteria to be met for a signing, just point them at Josh Brownhill

Got to pull him up on his last sentence - if Carlsberg did endings, Plymouth would have held on against Leeds.

Not unhappy.

A big wage cleared up and lets face it, he's not Prem material.

Thanks for the service but yeah departure is right for all parties.

Be careful, you'll get called sad and pathetic by a few on here if you say you didn't think he should have re-signed.

I thank Josh for his service. A great player over his time. Prem has always been just a stretch too far and if we are serious about surviving then this business was at the right time (providing we do actually sign the upgrades required- which I think we will) A good move for all party's.

Strange how brownhill has announced it but nothing from the clubs social media channels.

The club announced Egan-Riley leaving before he posted.

Something doesn’t seem right

Been great for us, but can't help thinking the Prem would have been a bridge too far this time.
If the suggestion of Wrexham has any foundation, it would be a hell of a signing and statement of intent from them.

I do wonder if this is why they fast tracked Cork to coach the first team, Browny was a massive figure in the changing room.

Think you have probably nailed it in one.

Good player at championship level but in the prem he wouldn’t get near the starting eleven for me.

It’s up to the club to go out and get a decent replacement.

As in he wanted reassurances for playing time?

Surely that wouldn’t have been an issue? It’s not as though we are flush with centre mids or transfer rumours for potential new purchases…..

Seriously think we need to be pulling our thumbs out of our arses or risk going in to the new season miles off it!
