Song for Ugochukwu

Post by Bob Lorder » Wed Aug 06, 2025 7:30 pm

It's the backing chant/beat for, Running bear by Johny Preston.

Ugochukwa
Ugochukwu
Ugochukwu
Ugochukwu

I think that'll sound great belting out of the cricket field stand .. thoughts ?

Jimmy Robbo on the transfer thread suggested something to the tune of Alvin Stardust’s ‘My Coo Ca Choo’.

Not the best attempt by me, but I think the tune fits.

Big…Les…Ugochukwu.
The brick shithouse in claret and blue.
In our midfield, he hates the Bastards too
Big Les Ugochukwu.

Was Dimitris Papadopoulos the longest name ever written on a Burnley shirt?

I think we all know that any song will be a regurgitated generic football chant.

My guess is Dur-dur-dur-dur Ugochukwu

To the tune of The Beatles Love Me Do:

Ugochukwu
You know we love you
In Claret and Blue
Les-lee-ee-ee-ee
Ugochukwu
Big Les Ugochukwu

My guess is that if the CFS started with UG it would constitute half their vocabulary and the gotchukawoo would probably be a bit much.

So, if the song went 'Ug ug ug' no one would know whether the CFS was singing or just having a jolly good chat.

Imagine if we could get the Cricket Field doing that intro whilst the Longside sings about another player at the same time.

Using the 'Danny, Vokesy' tune is as suitable as anything in my opinion.

In the paraphrased words of Alvin Stardust:
You really are our Ugochukwu

Has to be a ready made song for us here!
https://youtu.be/b0ZqNBd_orI

Ugochu I just want you
Really love the things that you do
Come on and love-a-me too
Oh won't you be my Ugochukwu

Sweetness I like how ya dress
I love the way you know you're the best
I'm in love and I'm in a mess
I really want you Ugochukwu

Come on lets do it again
I really want my Ugochukwu

Ugochukwu Ooga-Ooga
Ugochukwu Ooga-Ooga
Ugochukwa Ooga-Ooga
Ugochukwa Ooga-Ooga
I can't stop this feeling
Deep inside of me
Les, you just don't realize
What you do to me
When you play it
Out to the right
To Marcus Edwards
Everything's alright
I'm hooked on a feeling
Do do do do do
You got me believing
Do do do do do
That we are staying up!

I was told he pronounced his name as U goch U so based on that:

Sonny and Cher: I Got you babe

They say we're **** and we don't know
And we won't find out until we go
Well I don't know if all that's true
Cause you got me and baby Ugochukwu

Babe, Ugochukwu babe.
