New Head of Academy Operations

Post by aggi » Wed Sep 17, 2025 10:58 am

Adam Collins has left Blackburn Rovers to become Head of Academy Operations at local rivals Burnley.

Another one with City links but I suspect that's because City were leading performance analysis in the early days so there are lots of people who have come from there.

To be expected once Cat 1 status was confirmed. There'd be a certain calibre of operator who wouldn't entertain being involved at cat 2 or lower, nor would their role even exist below Cat 1

Not the case at all. Cat 1 states that no person can be responsible for more than one job so therefore it’s created more jobs for more people.

Read my post again.......

I was saying that jobs would now be advertised that didn't exist pre-Cat 1

Has someone left this role that we’re replacing, or was it one of the shared roles that now needs a specific person per Cat 1 requirements?

Do you have any views on this appointment? I can’t see the LinkedIn link but if he’s ex City/United he’s presumably got good experience. I’ve always been (very quietly) impressed with Rovers academy given their lack of real funding in recent years so hopefully a good hire.

No views at all, don’t know anything about him, but I’m more enthused now with Chris Casper in charge.
