Airplane Mode
Airplane Mode
Spent some time today wondering how my computer has managed to take on 'Airplane Mode' status. It knocked out the wifi which caused problems. I googled and the methods depicted diid not apply, as there was no off/on switch in the network settings.
I did a restore to earlier date and that worked ok for a time. then it just returned. I typed in turn off airplane mode in the ask me anything box, hoping to get an answer.
Instead, it came back saying, "Airplane Mode turned off". I thinked the Cortana person very much!
Went out and left computer on. came back and guess what!
I typed the same thing and hey presto, it is now turned off. Wiundows 10 is painful!

Re: Airplane Mode
Is it not under 'Notifications' in the System Tray?
You could also try editing the registry: Type 'regedit' and then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class

Re: Airplane Mode
Try the above again, but right click on Class and press Find. Search for RadioEnable. Make sure its value is 1. If not, change its value to 1.IanMcL wrote:Just a load of codes. Clicked on them all but none overtly say Airplane.
If you've changed it from 0 to 1, restart Windows.

Re: Airplane Mode
Is it not just an old notification you can dismiss?
Re: Airplane Mode
Mine did it the other week. I wonder if Windows 10 is playing silly beggars when it updates? I changed it by right clicking on the wi- fi strength icon at the bottom right. It then gave me a wi-fi or airplane mode option in two boxes.
Re: Airplane Mode
Mine just refers to settings but there is no trail shown there! It does turn itself off when asked which is clever, however, I don't ever want it on!RMutt wrote:Mine did it the other week. Will try later FactualFrank. thanks. Have to go out now.
All assistance welcomed. Will check that other link later, although all the Googling did not reveal the answer.

Re: Airplane Mode
I thought this was a Grosicki thread again.
Re: Airplane Mode
It'd be quite cool if your phone could effect the console on an aircraft. It would make the pilot really earn their salary!

Re: Airplane Mode
As mentioned I think its a FN (Function) then an F? button - maybe these were accidentally pressed or maybe your PC is telling you it needs a holiday.
