"Stepping up midfield hunt"
According to Alan Nixon, who suggests it might be bad news for Dean Marney.

Re: "Stepping up midfield hunt"
Been no news on Marney yet but I think there will be an update this afternoon when Sean Dyche does his press conference.

Re: "Stepping up midfield hunt"
It may suggest we've missed out on Brady and Snodgrass and so stepping up the search for a wide midfielder in the remaining days.

Why have we missed out on Brady? I thought that we were still looking for another midfielder even with a fully fit Marney.

We did fail to sell one at the asking price because allegedly his blood tests showed dodgy knees

Re: "Stepping up midfield hunt"
Seems fairly clear to me that Nixon is implying we are looking for a central midfielder, given he says it is potentially prompted by Marney's injury, so I don't see any reason why it means defeat in our pursuit of any central midfield target.
I'd have hoped we were looking for cover in this area anyway. The backstop option is to recall Ulvestad from Charlton, but he doesn't appear to have set the world alight in League 1, which is a shame because he appeared to have lots of attributes to develop into a real player for us. If we're leaving him at Charlton, then its really a replacement for him that I think we need - a young, athletic midfielder who can serve as back up to the established names this season, but who we hope will turn into a real first choice for us over the next couple of years.

Re: "Stepping up midfield hunt"
Loan for Delph would be good IF he could rediscover his Villa form that saw him get the move to city / break into the England squad.

Forget the midfielder and get a young striker under the radar.

This, from the BBC website.
"Crystal Palace have agreed a £9m fee for Norwich winger Robbie Brady, 25. (Croydon Advertiser)"
Just shows what a load of Lobbocks it all is.

Re: "Stepping up midfield hunt"
According to "the pink'un" which supposedly covers all news on Norwich City they have accepted a bid of £9m for Robbie Brady from Crystal Palace.
No mention of any firm bids from Burnley.
Hey ho, who knows what is going on, and those that do probably aren't posting on this message board.
