Moneyball
Has anybody else read the book, watched the film?
I can't help but feel that SD has bought in to some part of this.
His philosophy towards players would appear to be that he see's value in players that others don't.

Re: Moneyball
Yep I've watched it - decent film
I don't think Dyche is a slave to statistics - I think he uses them along side a number of other things to decide which players he wants.
Attitude
No ego
Fitting into framework
Etc

Re: Moneyball
I watched Moneyball on a long-haul flight a year or so ago. Fantastic film - really enjoyed it. Seem to remember a thread about it a year back. There was discussion whether such a strategy could work in football.

Just reminded me to watch that film, I've kept intending to. I'm watching now to draw up my Dyche conclusionshalfmanhalfbiscuit wrote:Has anybody else read the book, watched the film?

Re: Moneyball
A player like Westwood is sort of my point
Re: Moneyball
What Dyche values, over and above most managers, is team spirit. He will not accept a player, however talented, who will upset his teammates.
