Post by WestMidsClaret » Tue Jan 31, 2017 9:25 am

My ex has just told me Peter Capaldi is leaving Doctor Who!!!! I did say he'd probably leave due to there being a new producer! I've been concentrating that much on who we are getting in and changing shitty nappies that this passed me by!!! Bloody nora rowls and all you other whovians why didn't you tell me!!!

I've still never fully watched any episode of Doctor Who, it just doesn't appeal to me.

Now that is surprising seeing how I know you like sci fi sidders! I can't miss an episode so it's been a torturous 14/15 months whatever, Xmas special aside!

Take it she has a habit of telling you people are leaving

I've caught the odd bit, but it was never that popular in the house I grew up in, so it was never put on tv.
Star Trek however was on a lot :-)

I don't get it?! Are you "trying" to be a smart arse and say she left me or threw me out?

Everytime I've watched Doctor Who, it seems to me that its more of a kids show. I get that it's for all the family and everything, but considering I don't have kids at an age that they'll enjoy it, I don't even entertain it.

But I don't get why adults like it so much? I've had heated debates with people telling me it's not a kids show, when it clearly stoops to CBeebies territory at times.

Well there's obviously a reason why a lot adults like it so much clappy. :D
Maybe we are mentally 3 year olds or something who's girlfriend leaves them  but she was a fan too so she didn't leave me because I watch it!

Capaldi is an excellent Dr Who, but I can't get Malcolm Tucker out of my mind when watching and am left a little disappointed when he doesn't come out with an expletive drenched tirade.

I'm genuinely going to miss him oh Lord. I know he wasn't everyone's cup of tea but I don't think they realised he was trying to put his own mark on the character so didn't quite get him! Think they should bring back Matt Smith, my favourite doctor since I 1st started watching it around 1980. He was easy to connect with and very funny! Don't think he wanted to leave in the first place!

I stopped watching Dr Who when Tom Baker left. I used to love it as a kid, although those Daleks used to give me nightmares. Scary bastards.

The Yeti filling the underground with foam scared me, really did hide behind the sofa. Troughton was the first Doctor I remember and therefore was my favourite, but Baker was a close second. Matt Smith was the best of the newer ones and only watched 2 Capaldi episodes, I just don't connect with his version.

I was never really into Dr Who but the Mrs absolutely loves watching it. I got into the Tennant ones, particularly the angel statue ones, and continued watching whilst Amy Pond was in it. After she ditched, I got bored of it and haven't watched a single one of the Capaldi ones.

Who's next though? I would have liked to see Idris Elba or Chiwetel Ejiofor but it seems they have moved onto much bigger things.

How about a nice female Doctor, dressed like Xena. Ooops thinking about an ex of mine

Was a joke but clearly you're incapable of realising that
