Foul On Keane....Nailed On Peno
Never mind our goal (which was perfectly OK) blatant push on MK.
How Dean didn't see that I don't know, staring straight at it.

For the same reason he didn't "see" the pushes on Barnes or the 2 hold backs on GrayElectroClaret wrote:How Dean didn't see that I don't know, staring straight at it.

They've even 'coughed' to that on the Leicester forum. A few were p!ssed off about 'the hand of Sam' but just about all of them agreed we deserved it. What a brilliant day!

He couldn't have had a better view.

Yep. Defo pen. Nailed on cast iron and every other way you can think of to say it was.
How he could justify NOT giving it would be something special to hear.

Last few years Mike Dean has been very poor and yet he used to be one of the best referees around.

Dean's days as an EPL ref are almost done.

Re: Foul On Keane....Nailed On Peno
By the way, the Sportsnet coverage in Canada was absolutely farcical. They showed instead Barnes's purses and handbags with Simpson, then showed the Keane foul, and then the Barnes incident again, as if they were all the same invent. And then they asked "Is this a legitimate foul?" (Singular tense). They never miss an opportunity to take a shot at the smaller clubs. Like that handball/offside goal at home against Arsenal. They were absolutely indignant that it was even questioned.

But what do you expect when the lead host is a Scouser?

Re: Foul On Keane....Nailed On Peno
Could see it was a definite push on Keane from my viewpoint level with the halfway line, how the heck the Ref AND linesman didn't see it is baffling- is it bias, incompetence, what?

Maybe a combination of all of the above.

But they did mention on the broadcast that he had been reprimanded for giving too many penalties earlier in the season. That probably was weighing on his mind.

Probably that split second hesitation when the ref thinks 'was it', 'did he'. Then the moment has gone and he gives no decision, following the golden rule, 'don't give it unless you are sure'.

Re: Foul On Keane....Nailed On Peno
I just don't get this type of (non) decision. How can Dean possibly see it as clear as he has and not give a penalty? I am sat in the JH Upper (well, not at the moment of course) and I could see the push.

Re: Foul On Keane....Nailed On Peno
They could see the push from Brierfield it was that obvious. And how the lino hasn't then called his attention to the spat afterwards with Barnes is a mystery. He got pretty much everything wrong tonight but that's cos he's babber

Re: Foul On Keane....Nailed On Peno
As others have said - it isn't a case that he didn't 'see' it; he saw it and lacked the character to award it.
For whatever reason it was, it was an awful decision.
To add to the list is also his refusal to book Vardy for ungentlemanly conduct in fouling our 'keeper and diving for a penalty and the TWO penalties against Gray which, because Gray did not make a meal about and played with good sportsmanship, he completely ignored.

I'm convinced he blew as Arfield took the corner so he wouldn't have to award the pen for Ndidi clambering and rugby tackling Barnes Grrr

Re: Foul On Keane....Nailed On Peno
Went with my Foxes supporting mate and immediately after he texted, definitely a pen. Dean had a poor game, full stop. Sams winner was at my end and I didn't see the hand ball and despite what Claudio said Sam didn't control it with his hand.
Re: Foul On Keane....Nailed On Peno
In fairness Mr Raniera sort of accepted the hand ball assist goal.
However, he made no mention of the 2 pushes inside 45 seconds in Leicester pen area.
We bashed them up and defo deserved the win whatever Mr Lineker might think.
Shame the pundits are never on the Clarets side.
But who cares?
We are Burnley
Super Burnley.
The best in Claret and Blue.....!
