We have kept hold of Keane and Heaton.

Couldn't agree more. Holding on to our players for a club like us is at least as important as strengething the squad.

Never thought for one minute they would go anywhere. I honestly believe that they are both extremely loyal to Burnley and SD in particular. Both players were in no man's land until they came to us and now they are both in the England squad and getting rave reviews week in out.
SD has done wonders with the whole team and given every player a certain amount of confidence they were lacking as individuals. Probably naively, I believe they know they owe their success in part to SD and while not on mega money won't be short of cash even at £30k a week. Maybe it's just possibile they value loyalty and happiness over money.
Anyway, I'll carry on in my own little dream world believing that some of the players in the Premiership are genuine people like most supporters and not all financially driven.

It will be interesting in 20-30yrs time to hear what our current players have to say about their stint at Burnley.
So many of our past players have remained loyal to both the town and the club, choosing to put roots down in the area regardless of where their career took them.
Our current squad might move on to what they see as brighter prospects but I doubt they will find a better Team anywhere.
Very few leave Burnley and look back with bad memories, the exceptions are those who feel they are better than they really are. Players that spend years on loan, crying in their cars, the media darlings who like to pretend they were never here and those with so much coke up their noses it makes their knees bad.

I think there is loyalty, Firthy, but I think it's more down to Sean than the club or the area tbh. There are some that would follow him if he was to leave.Firthy wrote:Never thought for one minute they would go anywhere.
