Brazil on talk sport.

Post by Heathclaret » Wed Feb 01, 2017 9:19 am

Leicester were unlucky, should have had a penalty and the goal was hand ball.  . I think he must become a member of the Sherwood club.

Does anyone actually like Talksport?

Seems that people only listen so they can get angry at the bullshit that gets regularly spouted.

I had it on at work to listen to the Arsenal game. Apparently Demari Gray scored a penalty for us.

I can't understand the mentality of anyone that listens to TalkSport, let alone anyone who listens and then complains about the stations lack of impartiality.
It's an absolute nonsense of a Radio Station.

I met Brazil in one his watering holes on the Essex/Suffolk border before the start of the 14/15 season. He was very complimentary about Dyche and came across as quite a down to earth lad. Utter tube on the radio however.

I listen to the morning bit 10-1 (used to be great under colin murray, now not as good, but with similar guests with Jim White) and Andy Goldstein and Jason Cundy (10 pm till I give up sometime after 11)

They lost two great presenters in Murray and Collymore though.

I don't understand anyone who listens to either Brazil or Durham though

Not sure angry is the right word, bemused perhaps, it's like a bad film, you think it will get better, but you're right, why does anyone listen to it. I don't know why, I listen to the crap, think I may need therapy. Talk sport and the transfer window have done me in

In all fairness to me, they don't usually have a good word to say about smaller clubs, clubs outside of London or clubs outside the top 6-8.

We can't win. When we win with all the stats against us we get stick and when we win with all the stats supporting our superiority the other team are unlucky.

Just turned it off, even Danny Murphy saying Leicester were unlucky, harsh way to lose a football match blah, blah, blah. All three advocating Ranieri should be sacked. Bunch of tnuc's

The thing is with many pundits is they have gone away from actually thinking and talking about football in a reasonable manner.

Their purpose is to be provocative and controversial, to create headlines, which then feed into the world of social media and message boards like this one.

It is a lot harder to come up with a list of names of pundits/journalists who actually talk sense and balance their arguments.

Thing is, Leicester were unlucky to lose to a handball, and we had failed (despite numerous chances) to score a perfectly legit goal.

Got to remember that Danny Murphy was gushing about us last night as well

And the trouble with fans is they are too sensitive. Who honestly cares what any of them say or think. Burnley 1 Leicester city 0... NEXT.....

They can spout off all they like, all the moaning, whining and complaining that Leicester were unlucky doesn't alter the result one jot.
We won, 1-0, 3pts, thank you very much.

I've not listened to it much but assumed it was a London station? Only ever heard Arsenal and Chelsea being covered, I doubt they care much about Burnley or Leicester either way.

Leicester were unlucky to lose in the manner they did, in the same way we were lucky to lose in the manner we did against Arsenal. However, in both occasions the 'lucky' team were denied stone wall penalties so on that basis each game ended with the correct outcome.

We were fantastic last night and thoroughly deserved a win.

Edit - FWIW, I don't actually mind Brazil. He's a bit of a waffler but he seems like a reasonable guy. Nothing like the odious Durham.

TalkSport is Radio for Belmtards, made largely by Belmtards, listened to by Belmtards.

These guys had to find something to do though after they retired from sport.

Take Gough for instance, he's actually become better at talking complete and utter b o l l o c k s than he was at fast bowling.

And if Quinn and Cascarino had been as good a strikers as what they are at talking s h I t e they would have become the most fearsome strike partnership in the history of world football.

Cascarino was very good for Gillingham at the Turf in 1983: the day Terry Cochrane was applauded for scoring a belter against us.

Unlucky? I personally thought Leicester were bang average, they retained possession so poorly infact the Leicester performance reminded me of a Burnley away performance from earlier in the season.

remember Durham had a phone in which involved the topic of players playing for different countries (i.e. I have an aunt from...). Strange enough they never got Cascarino on the phone.

Love the south Yorkshire simpleton tag! I haven't listened to talk sport for ages but turned it on in the car on the way home last night hoping for transfer news because Tony Livesey was spouting b*ll*cks on the other station. Since when has Gough considered himself an expert on football. Without any hint of sarcasm he was dishing out advice to Jurgen Klopp. Classic Yorkshire stuff; "Tha can always tell a yorkshireman but tha can't tell him much".

I'll have you know that once 5Live had gone off the boil, I listened to Talksport driving home this morning! Couple of folk that called the 2 Mikes, who just tried to ridicule each other and act as know it alls. Odd but kept me awake by the jarring! grateful at 3am!

As someone said above, there is so much air time these days with 24 hour news and sport that if they didn't employ people who talk rubbish it would be very difficult to fill the space.

Not only that but Brazil and his fellow presenters always come across as fat, sexist, pig ignorant, populist Top 7-loving sycophants - idiots who form their narrow-minded views from what they witness on Sky TV sound bites, The Sun sports pages and anything spouted out by betting companies (who bankroll TS). I heard Brazil say recently that he's been on there for 19 years - a sign of just how tired and hackneyed he is.

He's probably nervous of getting players involved after Carragher rang him live on air and ripped him a new one.
