Apparently the FA isn't rushing to reform itself and Parliment wants it to sort itself out.
Former FA chairmen have highlighted the problem, but oddly enough didn't highlight it whilst they were in charge....

Not before time.
It has long been due an overhaul. It needs radical change.

FIFA won't take kindly to this. What is so wrong with the FA ?

Absolute waste of time and what on earth is the government doing giving the FA £30 million of taxpayer's money?

Rovers fans will no doubt be creaming their grubby Y-fronts over this news.
Whether a case of owners pumping nigh on £100m into a club to keep it afloat will be part of the debate remains to be seen.

Good question. I'd like to know that too.randomclaret2 wrote:FIFA won't take kindly to this. What is so wrong with the FA ?
Football in England seems to me very successful, both at the very top of club football, and lower down. The pitches generally are of a higher standard (with the FA investing in training for groundsmen at all levels). Coaching too seems a higher level.
Many issues - lack of pitches, lack of referees, schools problems are not solely down to the FA. There is clearly an issue with youth development at senior club level, and of course the international team could do better.
Surely there is more to it then criticism of some ticketing problem in 1990 that one of the comments at the bottom of the Independent article mentions, or that the management is made up of middle aged white men.

Probably because there aren't any women, gay or ethnic minorities, the government always finds ways of forcing organisations to comply!

Not sure what the government are actually getting at on this or rather what their agenda is. Although the FAs rulings at times are not ideal don't they operate under UEFA and FIFA directives ?
