The framework needs to change
if we are ever to win away from home.
Same old 4-4-2, fine at home, but away from home we need to start strong with 4-5-1, and work our way into games.
SD sometimes is too stubborn for his own good it is what might prevent him becoming a great manager.
I just hope that I'm not saying the same thing after and before our next away match because it is becoming a tediously familiar refrain.

Re: The framework needs to change
Disagree. 4-4-2 is working well and we've been unfortunate not to pick up points in recent away games.
Re: The framework needs to change
We didn't play 4-4-2 today, we played 4-3-2 or some variation of it.
There's the problem.

Re: The framework needs to change
I agree 4-4-2 just doesn't work away, strikers get no service and they are too far away from the midfield.
It should be 4-5-1 with Vokes up top with Gray to come on at 6o mins.
May struggle to play that formation now the midfield is decimated though!

Not as tedious as you bnging the same ryhtym on the same drum over and over again when its obviously not true. 442 went out of the window wiuth the sending off at 5 minutes you Berk :d

The only reason I'm tedious is because no lesson is ever learnt.

4-5-1 so Tarks can play in CM?
That's got to be the reason you're pushing for it.

Re: The framework needs to change
You do realise we've played 4-5-1 away from home? For example West Brom (if I remember correctly) when we got beat 4-0.

Sadly that's just how some would see it.

It works at the Turf, why shouldn't it work away?ablueclaret wrote:But it was how we started, nothing is more repetitive, trying the same method over and over again without success is as we know a sign of....

Well let's give 4-5-1 a five match trial it couldn't be any worse.

Re: The framework needs to change
The reason is simple away from home we come under so much more pressure.

It was worse though.ablueclaret wrote:Well let's give 4-5-1 a five match trial it couldn't be any worse.

We've played 4-5-1 for a few games haven't we?

Re: The framework needs to change
I live in wonder that ablueclaret hasn't been offered a job as tactical genius at one of the leading clubs or national teams. He has obviously way more nous than Sean Dyche or any of his team. They work with the lads 5 days a week but can't see how much we need to change the system, team selections or the framework. How dare they presume to understand how to be mid table in the Premier League with only 1/3rd of the season left.

Re: The framework needs to change
Oddly enough, Leicester need to revert back to 4-4-2, they're playing different formations and many people think that's their problem, along with Kante missing.

Re: The framework needs to change
Talking rubbish, Ablueclaret.
We tried playing 4-5-1 away from home earlier in the season, and rapidly concluded that we were a much better team when we had the pace of Gray up front to really stretch teams.
4-4-2 suits our players better than any other formation, and so it is the correct formation to use. The only thing wrong today was that we got a man sent off after 5 minutes.

Re: The framework needs to change
ABC doesn't actually realise we've tried 4-5-1 away a number of times and it wasn't effective e.g. Leicester (3-0 defeat); Southampton (3-1 defeat); and West Brom (4-0 defeat).

He must be aware of it, he's just ignoring it because it doesn't fit the rather hackneyed narrative he's cooked up.

We've just been away from home in the Premier League and for long periods dominated with 10 men, looked fine to me

Re: The framework needs to change
I'm waiting for the 4-1-4-1 suggestion.
Arsenal played it today, so ABC could use that as proof it (doesn't) works

Re: The framework needs to change
Nothing wrong with the framework. If we had 11 players today we would've won...Simple as. Brady looks a real player.

Re: The framework needs to change
We have never played a holding midfielder.
Away from home we need strength and pace we are too lightweight with Arfield and Boyd.

Re: The framework needs to change
A four man midfield including Arfield and Boyd will not win matches away from home.
