Josip Drmic - Alternative to Jay Rod?

Post by CMOMClaret » Sat Jul 07, 2018 10:22 am

Today we are being linked with Borussia Mönchengladbach 25 year old striker Josip Drmic in the German Press

Which translates to :

BILD learned that three clubs in Borussia have inquired about Josip Drmic (25), who once met in three World Cup appearances. Recently, Drmic already avoided a clear commitment to his Gladbach future: "We'll see what happens ..."

Among the interested parties is with England's Premier League FC Burnley even a Europa League participant, the other two are the AFC Bournemouth and Watford.

Because the Drmic contract expires in 2019, VfL could now demand coal for the attacker for the last time, which has impressively fought back after suffering two cartilage damage. So far, however, the offers are still below the required by Borussia 5 million euro limit.

According to reports we are ahead of both Watford and Bournemouth in the race to sign him for a reported 5 Million Euro's

That is usually when I stop taking too much notice, three clubs tends to suggest nothing more than an agent touting his client.

He's been out for nearly 2 years, and yet to show a, if he's recovered, or b, if he is still the same player.
It would be a massive gamble for anyone to buy him. We don't do massive gambles, so I would take it with a pinch of salt.

Less than £5M is the going rate for a 'hope he has retained the qualities that made him good' player. He has obviously recovered fully from the injury if he passes the medical so he would immediately be at a more prepared level than Wells was.

Drmic had one good season in the Bundesliga for Nürnberg in 2013/14. Since then he's suffered terribly with injuries. Big, big risk.
