Although, I wouldn't be surprised to see TikTok or someone like that (genuinely have no idea if they could compete with the bookies, but you'd imagine so).

I’d have B&H on the front, Porn Hub on a sleeve and Ladbrokes on the back if it meant that we could help to fund the transfers that Kompany wants.

It’s a sorry state of affairs but until the blanket ban on bookies advertising on shirts comes in, it’s a bed that we have to lay in unless by some miracle Pace can find a better option.

Personally, I’d sooner see a ban on the TV, Radio and LED hoarding adverts for gambling companies, than I would on shirts.

Whoever we get, I just hope it’s not some sprawling, ugly logo that stands out like a sore thumb.

I suggested social media helping to improve the teams image would help to bring in different/international sponsors and that got mocked by some on here, they couldn't grasp the importance of social media and potential sponsors noticing what's going on.

JJ Watts' presence will also help in this aspect.

Most of the old boys on here (majority of the board) would have a meltdown trying to understand social media like Tik Tok. They have a hard enough time getting to grips that Burnley had a successful ladies team.

Getting them to buy into the global BFC brand is a waste of time. It’s a local club for local people!

I’m not quite an old boy yet but getting there, however it’s a little patronising to say old boys don’t understand tik tok. We had clocks when I was a kid too!

If we are looking for a top tier global brand (as we should be) then they will look at the overall reach and exposure they will get with their shirt sponsorship.

The global tv reach of the Premier League is the main attraction for those kind of brands. You get on Sky Sports, you get on USA and NBC, you get on popular sports television networks around the world.

Having a big social media reach can also help. But we don't have that so it will make very little impact on those kind of companies.

And while JJ Watt also adds to the positive vibe around the club and its brand - ultimately he isn't going to have a massive sway on those kind of companies.

It's generally only the lower level teams in the premier league that have gambling sponsors. The big teams are out of their budget.

Airlines.. BA, American Airlines, United Airlines, Singapore, Cathay Pacific, Qatar & Qantas. All fly into and out of the U.K.

There are big companies in lots of sectors. Or is it just to easy to click your fingers at the gambling industry, and another unheard of crawls out of the woodwork waving a cheque.

Looking for a blue chip sponsor is difficult, football clubs can be divisive so they would want reach as well as reputational security.

I have been surprised our owners have not been able to bring in a sponsor from the USA, there are a number of internationally renowned companies who HQ in Salt Lake for example.

Unfortunately we have to follow the money so it will probably be a gambling firm.

Yes, it does surprise me really that with so much interest around the world in the PL that we can’t attract bigger sponsors/brands. Even if you assume that mass worldwide audiences only take an interest in the top 6, we play them 12 times so that’s great exposure to their brand for 90 minutes a go.

I’d love to see us partner with a big brand over a multi-year contract but only the really big boys seem to get those deals for whatever reason. I’m no expert but imagine it’s probably to do with companies reducing above the line marketing spend in favour of below the line.

If an airline sponsors us for £5m say (£2.5m less than LoveBet) there’s no guarantees they’ll sell £6m more tickets, or any at all in fact, so the benefit is immeasurable.

Different for a start-up betting brand where you have to build a brand presence.

he did - also said it the spread:EX deal was similar in value to the LoveBet £7.5m deal that collapsed during covid - though the sponsor stayed with us in a smaller deal in the Championship

The 2022 accounts suggest is wasn't unless all the deals incorporated a significant bonus for retaining Premier League status - I say this because we know that the adverts on all those LED screens were not given away for free - I cannot be the only one disappointed by the poor performance of the commercial income side in the last accounts - hopefully things will be much more positive on that front going forward
