I take it that there is no VAR in the competition as yet.

All I can find is "Since 2024–25, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system is used in all EFL Cup ties held at Premier League stadiums". But other sources say semi-final and final only.

Not used at all in the League Cup until the semi-finals.
