Wasn’t a difficult game to ref but thought he reffed it very well.

I thought John McGinn was the ref today?

As a way of keeping this feature ‘bumped’ I’ll just say it was very disappointing he missed so much despite blowing so often, especially several incidents where a player boshed another in the face (for both teams) or a boot was trod on, and no foul was given.
Then there was leaving Florentino off the pitch for nearly 40 seconds while they scored the 2nd goal - I rewound and checked.

Can't score because I wasn't at the game. He allowed Anthony to get some treatment off the Villa players.

B. Consistency - 8
C. Fitness and Positioning - 20
D. Control and Authority - 8
Very poor. Played under the allotted time of injury time, re started the drop ball 10 yards further back. Counted to 9 seconds with Martinez. The list is endless. Big pull on Antony on the edge of their box waves it away. Let digne slow the game down. Such a weak referee.

Was that from the incident where he went down injured and didn't have treatment but still was sent off for 30 seconds?

Inconsistent:
Florentino goes down injured, not treated but Kitchen stops the play and makes him leave the field for 40 seconds during which time Villa score their second goal. Had Florentino been on the pitch he may have prevented the build up to the goal.
A few minutes later a Villa player goes down injured, again not treated but Kitchen stops the play. He does NOT make the Villa player leave the field. Anyone know the rule, the referee obviously applied two different rules.
Generally a home - if a Villa player was fouled or fell over, free-kick to Villa. If a Burnley was fouled or fell over, play on.
Typical incompetent Premier League Official.

I think (only think) due to the fact the game was stopped while the ball was in play the directive is now that the player has to leave the field of play. On the Villa one the ball went dead so didn’t need to leave the field of play. He may be right on that one but not sure.

The only thing I could conclude with the Florentino incident was that he perhaps had blood on his face or shirt, but it didn’t seem that way and it was a complete mystery to me that he decided to send him to the sidelines. Then again, with that fella reffing, anything could (and usually does) happen. He’s dreadful, closely followed by the odious McGinn constantly bellowing at him without sanction.
