Not sure about this one, whether it's true or not. Let's not forget when we were first in for this guy we were doing quite well in the Championship, we're now doing (I think) very well in the Premier League.

I think the first time we were in for him Hitler was in charge in Germany.

When we were first in for him was summer 2014 - we were in the Premier League.

He isn't going to cost that much as he is put of contract in the summer so it's a yes from me.

Would be madness not to try and sign him for the now knock down price of £2.5M for an area where we really do need options. Adding Lansbury and Barton for 2.5 would be good business. Many of the players who have previously been linked will be upwards of £10 million in this transfer window.

Delighted if we sign him, a great addition to our midfield.

Get him signed up.
I'm curious to see if my mate dislikes him as much as he dislikes Boyd.

We've only got Barton till the end of the season and Marney won't last forever. If Lansbury is available for £2.5m then thats a steal and we should snap him straight up.

We need to be looking for medium term replacement for Marney. He could be one option.

If this is true its clear as daylight that Defour is on his way...Can't get a start now so no chance with Barton and Lansbury added to the midfield...Bye Bye Steven You were class !

But he's not available at 2.5m - they've already turned that down from Birmingham. Concerns me also that a championship club are in for him

Nixon has tweeted that Lansbury's agent is putting his name around to all and sundry. Forest takeover still not complete, sounds a real mess of a club.

Highly unlikely that he'll be coming here. Linked with Newcastle,Aston Villa,Watford and an improved bid from Derby.

Lansbury and Stephens are both out of contract at the end of this season aren't they? I suspect one of them will end up with us if the price is right. Lansbury wouldn't be a bad signing for somewhere around the £3 million mark. If we sign him on for 3 years and it doesn't work out after 12 months we'll easily recoup that in the current market.

Not sure Lansbury could be considered a replacement for Marney. Couldn't be more different playing styles.
If he wants to play in the Prem he should sign for us, otherwise I could see him at villa.

If Stephens and Lansbury are both out of contract in the summer I would doubt we would be in for either in January when we can get them for nothing in July particularly given that we now have Joey as midfielder no.4 - UNLESS someone is on their way out.....Defour? Or UNLESS Joey ends up with a 15 game ban!!

But waiting until July = more competition. He'll be cheaper and so the demand is likely to increase.

As he has played for Anderlecht and ourselves this season, he cannot play for anyone else until next season. He won't be going anywhere.

Wrong. He can sign for a Chinese club. There seasons are different therefore they get round the rule.

I think Lansbury moves in january. Forest is going nowhere. The optimist in me thinks we MIGHT sign him but odds are he is going somewhere else. Stephens is staying at bha and will only move if they don't get promoted.

After seemingly decades of trying for Lansbury, I trust he will be the greatest footballer ever to grace a football pitch if we sign him.
His name is beginning to grate on the nerves after so many false dawns.

FIFA Article 5.3 regarding transfers:
Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs. Equally, the provisions relating to the registration periods (article 6) as well as to the minimum length of a contract (article 18 paragraph 2) must be respected.

Do you think it would bother him sitting out the last few games of their season then having a preseason on the silly money they are paying. Defour will be leaving this window

I bet he doesn't either. Dyche has explained why he hasn't been starting.
11th in the PL, the window has only just opened, Barton has re-signed and still we have negativity.
Unbelievable.

Either Steven Defour is a good footballer, or he is only interested in the money.
Many of us have seen a good footballer - perhaps the most skilled footballer to play for Burnley for many years.
If he's off to China he is "following the money." Perhaps that is more important to him. Perhaps his fitness/injury is more limiting than we know - and he needs to/wants to earn as much as he can over the short period he has got left playing.
It's been great having Defour in the team/squad/group for these few months. I'd love it to continue for 2 or 3 more seasons.

Not in anyway being negative, I just don't believe Defour is a good fit. Somebody that smokes 40 a day cannot expect to perform to their max sadly. Not saying he doesn't have fitness issues but the smoking will not help recovery times. Also he has stated he is not getting a property as he is on the bench too much. This is an ultimatum of sorts which SD hasn't risen to. Because of this his agent then put out the China statement. Defour or his agent are doing everything possible to engineer a move and as shown with Vossen, SD isn't scared to cut his losses early

Agree. £30 million will be fantastic return. What if it's "only" £20mm? And, would we sell for £10mm?
