I suffer quite badly from Raynaud's disease. Although I've worn a lot of good gloves my hands have still got pins and needles and gone numb. I'm now looking to invest in a really good pair of heated gloves. Having looked at the choices, there are so many, I felt I needed advice on a good type to purchase and there's no better place than asking people on the forum.

Yes cutsy123 there are a range of battery warming ones and some which are the gelly type, which fit into the palm of the hand, but don't heat for long. There's nothing better than wrapping my cold hands around a Bene n hot to warm them up, but not when you've to drive after.

The Cotton one is $89 CDN. Hardly breaks the bank.

I use the little hand warmers that you can pick up for £1/2 in sport direct or pound shops - wont be a long term solution but they help me out when out walking and it's cold.

Usually last an hour or so and can just keep them in your pocket for whenever needed.

I buy those little hand warmers on eBay a box of twenty quite reasonable.last about 6 hours wouldn't be without them at games in the winter.

hot rock is one of the branded hand warmers, 2 heat settings. fairly decent time on a full charge. my missus bought me one.

Recently, I came across a drug called Nifedipine, my barber told me about it. She has the same problem of white, painful fingers but this drug helped a lot.
I asked my GP and he was perfectly happy to let me try it, beginning with a small dose of 10mg (I think). My barber takes 2-3 capsules per day, depending on the temperature outside. Since I started them 3 weeks ago, I haven't had white fingers once I still get cold fingers but they don't turn white and painful any more The only downside for me is minor headaches, but I'm happy to put up with that, YMMV.

I'm both delighted and annoyed; delighted that I have finally got something that actually helps, annoyed because I have asked various GPs for help over the last 15 years, not one suggested this drug to me.

Ask your GP for Nifedipine.

They had some in Aldi the other week.

Sonic, I tried Nifedipine, but they didn’t benefit and made me dizzy. It’s ironic, I’d just put a heater on, as my hands are cold in the house. It doesn’t look like I will be going out much in the coming months, other than going on the Turf. I’ve developed arthritis in my knee, which is very painful and stopped my activities. Roll on getting a knee replacement.
I did buy a pair of small flask like containers, which I’d to put a small amount of petrol from a canister into it, light a wick, then put a lid over it. They worked heating my hands and lasted a few hours.

Raynauds is awful from September to May, so basically the whole football season.

My three pronged approach is Nifidipine, silk glove liners, and a pair of North Face fleece lined leather gloves. The silk glove liners are about £10-£15 depending on the brand, and the North Face gloves are about £150

Quite often at matches I’ll need to spend at least 5 minutes with both hands under hot running water because I’ve taken my gloves off to pay for a coffee or get my ticket out of my pocket. It only takes 20-30 seconds for the colour to completely drain from my hands and the pain to kick in.

I've used the nuclear Hollands pies from the kiosk in the past.

One in each coat pocket and you're fine.

Whatever you do don't eat them, they're shocking.
