Re: Robbie brady
I think there's general agreement he'd be a good signing, even at that money. Not the mirror says "worth up to"...i'd expect us to be making a fair old chunk dependent on us staying up.
As ever, the biggest challenge will probably be wages.

Re: Robbie Brady
Link added now.
Re: Robbie brady
A few things I've read about Brady and Palace would suggest he'd be going there as a left-back, and Norwich fans are pretty much in agreement that he's better further forwards and would prefer to play there. I'm guessing we would very much see him as a wide midfielder, which along with our Irish contingent could tip the balance in our favour.
Re: Robbie brady
With his experience at slotting in at fullback he's a perfect fit for us. We won't find a more suited wide player IMO
Re: Robbie Brady
I said 2 years ago he would fit us superbly.
Him and Grosicki please.

Doubt we could get a better suited winger for our system. Would be a big upgrade on Boyd an Arfield's roles in the team.

I've also said I'd throw all the eggs in a basket to get Brady. Perfect signing.
Let's hope he gets on with Ward and Hendrick

Brady and Hendrick have been friends since they were kids. Played for the same junior team in Ireland.

Must admit I'm astounded to read that Brady is only 24. Makes him an even more attractive proposition.

How many more times do I need to say it SIGN HIM ON PLEASE as soon as possible .
Re: Robbie brady
Perfect fit for us, would love it to come off!
Re: Robbie brady
If we want him, we need to be fast. Lets get the deal wrapped up quickly while Palace sit on their hands considering whether or not to bid again.

Re: Robbie brady
General consensus from Norwich fans on social media is to snap our hands off at £13m!
Doubt the up front money would be anywhere near that figure but would be an excellent addition.

One of the hardest things is finding a player who suits our system and it seems he would perfectly. We need to act swiftly.

If the report is to be believed we've put a bid in worth up to £13 million, which is more than anyone else. What is there left to do at this stage as in moving quickly, acting fast.
Black hood, duct tape and a car boot?

Re: Robbie brady
Surely a no risk signing at that age and with the experience and skills he has, subject to medical of course. Get him in Dyce fit before we play Leicester and the away games against the bt. end.

Re: Robbie brady
Second part of your post seems to me to be spot on. Would imagine there'll be a decent up front element, but lots dependent on staying up, appearances, etc.Jakubs Tash wrote:General consensus from Norwich fans on social media is to snap our hands off at £13m!

As for what Norwich fans think, I think not unlike our own supporters, there's an element by which fans perceptions of value lag behind the realities of the market. 2-3 years ago, Brady's I doubt current value would be no more than 5 million, including the add ons. But the market is moving massively all the time.
Apart from being apparently mates with Hendrick, he will know Ward (who by all accounts was influential in getting Hendrick to sign), and George Boyd, whom he'll have played with at Hull, and Keane and possibly Heaton, from Man U days. So there's a few handy links.

I presume if we were to sign Brady it would be primarily to play in the left of the midfield.ashtonlongsider wrote:I personally would prefer us to sign Charlie Taylor from Leeds.

Re: Robbie brady
always been impressed with brady and, from our point of view, one of the most important things is that he's one of the few players who you feel could just go straight into the team without too much bedding in, which in our position is gold.
good age, good pedigree, solid experience. he'd be the near perfect signing.

Some of the names mentioned previously I personally could take or leave, but this one has certainly cuased a spark. As said earlier, "the perfect signing". However I'm prepared to be disappointed.

Re: Robbie brady
Been asking for us to sign Brady from the minute the final whistle went against QPR and we were promoted - said all along he would be the perfect signing for our system.
I know people make jokes about the fact it is a requirement for our wingers to 'track back' - but it really is. Robbie Brady is as defensively sound as he is effective going forwards and his crossing is superb. He is the perfect age and for me £13m is absolutely fair in this market if we use Hendrick as the barometer.
Get him in - please.

A win on Saturday will do us a lot of good re incoming signings, as 26 points makes survival a strong possiblity. Especially if the bottom 4 don't win as well.

Robbie Keane, Robbie Brady...any chance of Robbie Blake coming back?
Re: Robbie brady
I think Brady is right at the top end of the kind of player we could possibly buy. I think he'd be an excellent addition and he's probably just gone a bit stale at a struggling Norwich.

Re: Robbie brady
I'd like Brady, but don't take any notice of media **** at this time of year.
Competition from Sunderland, when Moyes has already said he has no money to spend.........
Palace are being linked to everybody, much the same as West Ham are.
West Hams policy seems to be put as many rods in the pond as possible and take the one that bites first. Ours appears to be put the one rod in and pray....

Re: Robbie brady
To say 2 years ago he went to Norwich for 7m I think you are being a tad naïve. The fee from United to Hull is undisclosed so can't judge the progress of his fees going up.claretspice wrote:Second part of your post seems to me to be spot on. Re: Robbie brady
£13m is a lot of money, but he ticks plenty of boxes. I'd rather have Snodgrass if that was realistic, but Brady would be a bloody good signing.
