Quite right, the way SD goes about things. If things happen, they happen.
Don't think it'll be for lack of trying on the managers part.
Just hope we get this lad.

Yep a couple of stories yesterday here in Ireland and now RTE have jumped all over it this morning . I would say wages will be the big hold up if any as Jeff and Wardy will have talked about the club with Robbie .
Wait and see but a lot of the International fans see this as a poor move as he should be playing in a high profile side , hey the Irish are never happy .

High profile? Not sure he'd get in the top 6 sides, he's quality but mid table prem and see how he fais maybe more appropriate. As has been mentioned he has a couple of prem relegation on his cv. Granted he's been one of the top performers in those sides.
With the links our players have to him, I can't for the life of me think we don't know what money he is after, and how much we have indicated we would pay him.

I'm looking forward to us giving Leicester a proper game on the 31st (will make my exile more enjoyable if we do).
Get it done BFC.

I seriously cannot think of a player that suits us more than Brady - would surely be the first signing potentially ever in the history of Clarets Mad or Up The Clarets to not have one (that I have seen?) naysayer!

Jeff Schlupp at Palace now for medical to complete £13million transfer, sky sources.
From memory he plays on the left so maybe that rules out Palace going for Brady but means Leicester might go in for him.

You have to remember 95% off football fans in Ireland follow Man Yoo or Liverpool , well it seems that way at times . So there's your high profile club .
I have seen close to all of his international games and left back is his worst position the more he is pushed forward he gets this freedom in his play the fans love him I must say .
Like I said before he ticks all the boxes what is needed at the Turf and he will be outstanding player if we get him .

I liken him to a more forward based left sided Trippier. Fast but there are some quicker. Good going both ways and has terrific delivery. Exactly what Sam, Andre and Ash need. I am absolutely confident he would make a massive impact here

Leicester are a problem though aren't they. Now Schlupp is on his way they've got a the perfect space in their squad for Brady - same sort of money as well. Plus they've got the Champions League knockout phase to play in yet - that'll be a pull for him I'm sure.
I'd love to think the Hendrick and Ward would have enough sway to bring him to Burnley but I fear Leicester would pay bigger wages and offer him a level of football we simply can't... for this season at least!

If Leicester want him, then we won't get him.
But if they don't, then he would be a cracking signing

The link between Ward -> Hendrick -> Brady shouldn't be underestimated. Imagine he's on a fairly high wage though.

Would be fairly happy with this although he isn't that rapid and we clearly need pace to get higher up the pitch quicker.
Would be happier with the gambling addict

Brady is a top quality player , who is also in demand from several other premier league, have we in the last few seasons ever successfully signed a player wanted by any another premier league team? I don't think so.
Its laughable how we flatter ourselves to think we could also compete to sign a player like Snodgrass.
Dyche said at the beginning of the season that players we wanted to sign were preferring championship teams and more money than Burnley and the Premier League.
I would love Brady to sign as he would be a perfect player for us, but if he does I will walk up the steps to my seat in the Bob lord stand at our next match waving my chopper in the air.

If Leicester are in for him then fair enough we'll struggle to compete but the situation has changed from August. We are more likely to stay up than a handful of teams and as such much more appealing.

Funnily enough, as i understand it Jeff Hendrick did that in the summer when he chose us over Leicester.
Leicester could come in and blow us out of the water on wages and if they do, so be it.
What they can't offer, i suspect, is guaranteed first team football. Chances are he'd start on the bench there. And whilst that isn't perhaps as important as money, it is still important, particularly for a player looking for an opportunity to truly establish himself as a Premier League performer and keep climbing the ladder.

If Leicester are interested then they should be able to blow us out of the water in terms of wages and the chance of Champions League football.
Hasn't Ranieri also said this week that he would like to have a centre back in before the end of the month
If we have shown genuine interest then it shows ambition but, given the above, I hope we have other targets in mind - seem to recall Garlick saying a while back that we would be looking to Europe this Jan for better value

I'm not too arsed if we're competing with Leicester for him to be honest. I mean yeah - they're in the Champions League for another few games and that's about it.
I can honestly see us finishing above them this season. I think we have a much better team ethos than they do this season.
The biggest problem would probably be wages

I'm in shock that palace have paid 12 million for schlupp. Nuts. Excellent athlete but is he actually all that good at football? Which called me old fashioned, is still fairly important. Has he ever had a run of games for Leicester at premier league level? He was a squad player in the championship!
He's about the same ability as josh king at Bournemouth, and he's not getting a 12m price tag. Expensive those league winners medals aren't they.

Leicester have bidded £10m, and with them selling Schlupp I can see them getting him.

Neill is quoted as saying we have bid, but nothing like £13m (£3.5 + add-ons, knowing Burnley

)
If we want this player we need to get a sensible bid in soonish, their asking price might be a good starting point.

Derby's asking price for Hendrick was £15 million, we got him for under £9 million in the end. Starting with the asking price is just about as daft as you can get. We have made a sensible offer, a very sensible offer. Just sad that people continually undermine us.

That article, like ours, has no actual comment or evidence a bid has been made. Let's hope Leicester haven't bid at all...

What could be in our favour this time round is that Norwich need to raise funds to bring players in. So I don't see this going down to the last day of the window.
