Joey will get the headlines but I thought that was Hendricks best game for us against a very good opposition.

Very impressive today, as he has been since that goal against Bournemouth.

I agree. He has an engine. He has nice touches. As much as I loved David Jones, I think he has been an upgrade.

Brilliant today Hendrick, all over the park and picked out some good passes.

Boyd also comes away with a lot of credit.

Second best for us but he's got so much to improve as well. Could prove a great signing.

He carries the ball so well for a big ''useless no better than Marney, Derby benchwarmer'' like some on here were saying. All over the pitch, passes the ball really well with quality.

Took a bit of time to settle into how we play and the upgrade in leagues but looks a player now.

I thought you were dominated and scored with your only effort, a set piece..

Excellent game today.

Felt sorry for Defour, he just isn't a winger. He doesn't have the pace to make space to get a cross in, and we don't have anyone to play triangles with him to make the space. Completely wasted through no fault of his own. Despite Hendricks great game I think we would have been better if they switched places.

Hendrick was pivotal in centre midfield so on that basis it was absolutely correct to play him in the middle particularly when you consider the small point that we won the game and many people would have been satisfied with a point.

Well worth the money we paid for him, which as you'll all remember, I never doubted. ;)

I couldn't understand Defour playing as a winger. We all know he's a great footballer, he has all the time in the world when playing centrally and uses the ball exceptionally well, but never a winger. Wasted when playing wide.

Have to say that Hendrick is looking pretty good now, to my mind he was comfortably MOM from the 10 not playing between the sticks.

Didn't think he was good enough at this level, but happy to say that I was wrong with that one.

Agree with all the positive comments. Thought he was first-class today. I must profess to having my doubts although I do think he's a player you need to see in the flesh and focus on him and see exactly what he does. But you couldn't possibly miss him today. We were up against a good football team that cost a few quid and play a nice game. I thought has everywhere today. We can see why now the gaffer wanted him so much.

Just seen ksrclaret's comment. I think he may have been lacking in self-confidence at the start of the season but now he knows he can cut it at this level.

Hendrick had a good game, but Defour a beter CM if you ask me. My guess is that Hendrick would do a better job on the wing

No doubt he's improving a lot as time with us moves on. Very pleased with him as a signing.

My only frustration with him is he sometimes gets caught in possession in careless scenarios. Obviously his game isn't going to be flawless just something I think he needs to work on, maybe a concentration or arrogance thing.

I never understood the negativity towards him in the first place but he's certainly looking the part now. He's given us some outstanding performances in the last couple of months.

With confidence and understanding of the league has come a real presence in midfield. Hes always had a nice pass on him, two good fert and an ability to carry the ball, but he's now really imposing himself on the game.

Good to see he's now convinced the slightly hasty doubters. He wasn't flawless today, but that sort of physical presence, mobility, when mixed with technical ability, is a recipe for a 20 million quid footballer before long.

I haven't seen anything from him that suggests he shouldn't be the first name on the team sheet.

Hendrick has been excellent for a good few weeks now. He seems to have got his stripes in this league after an initial settling in period, which is understandable.

Very happy with his progress and is without question an instant pick.

Henkdrick was suberb today, but I must say Boyd has stepped up to a new level in the since Christmas. Winning tackles, headers the lot.

I think Dyche has given him a little more freedom to wander.

Your obsession with Defour is borderline stalking, we get it, you like Defour because you told Dyche to sign him and you live in Belgium but does every post have to contain the word Defour? Do you have Steven Defour bed covers and curtains?

Sean is rapidly turning Hendrick into a PL quality midfielder who consistently delivers. The quality and depth we've got across midfield, central and wide, with players who can cover more than one role, is the biggest difference between this and our last PL season. A big enough difference to enable us to survive.

Still seems to need that extra touch on the ball at times which in this league can be your undoing

Hendrick stood out a mile for Burnley in the first half while they dominated, not so much 2nd half but that was probably as the whole team improved massively.

Agree he was very good today, also think Boyd seems to have upped his game these last few weeks, with Marney, Defour, JBG and now Joey as options our midfield is looking a lot stronger than it has for a while

I thought apart from Boyd, who was outstanding, that our Midfield was out of sorts today.

Defours delivery into the box was poor, Marney was totally out of sorts and Hendrick was bang average.

But for our outstanding defending today, and Southampton having no Charlie Austin, we would and should have bee beaten
