How important will those world class saves in the dying minutes prove to be !
Tom is really starting to be Peter Schmeichel-like. In so much as, each game he saves what should really have been a certain goal!
Absolutely chuffed for him. He's a top bloke on and off the pitch. I'll have a pint on him tonight !

I'm not being biased because he plays for Burnley but surely he should be England's number one!?

Thought it was good live but it was even better when I saw the replay.
Thank you Tom

Glad he gets a thread too. Heaton is constantly outstanding and should never take his excellence for granted. England's no1.
Edit: Saint's Forum comment on their performance and poor run.
"Can we just bid £15m for Heaton and go from there."

That first was very, very good.
Seemed to bounce in front of him.
The second was just outrageously good.
Tom is outstanding and, watching a keeper of his class playing for Burnley, takes me back to Stephenson and Blacklaw in their prime.

He's saved us numerous points already this season. I feel sure if he played for a Top 4 club he'd be England's No1.
I'm happy he stays a Claret & remains England's No 3 tbf but it does seem unfair on a top top keeper & all round nice chap. Best I've seen in my 30 years, by a landslide

Tom is easily the best keeper in the country - and he doesn't have dandruff

I wonder just how many points he's saved us or gained us already this season,a team with Heaton and a defence like ours will be nowhere near going down.

He was never going to be any good for us having come from a relegated club.

I had to think for a minute to recall who is/was England's #1 keeper. I went through all the Prem teams and still couldn't remember his name. I guess IF Joe Hart is still in Italy on 1-Feb that Gareth Southgate might also be looking for a new #1.
There's none better than Tom Heaton - and, perhaps the England manager will be allowed to pick his team from the Top 10 teams in the Prem.

Let's face it....Tom is keeping us up! Very very impressive.
Having said that we have some really great players in the team. Enjoy these years!

Shouldn't have needed to make the 2nd save as it should have either gone far and wide or around the post.
However it was top drawer stuff.
He's certainly doing his chances of being England's undisputed number 3 no harm at all!
That save has made sure we are playing premier league football next season IMO, that's how important it was.

Having an unbelievable season but dont know how anyone can say for certain he is Englands #1 unless youre watching Joe Harts performances week in and week out

Saw the interview with Joey Barton on Sky after the game and he gave much of the credit for today's win to Tom and some of the incredible saves he made during the match. Nice to hear.
Well done to Tom and the lads for another great 3 points.

Nothing against Joe Hart. Nothing against Serie A. But, it's not the same as testing yourself against the best teams and players in the Prem.
Maybe playing in Spain against Real Madrid and Barca who keep Joe Hart in top form.

By that logic any English goalkeeper playing in the Premier League last season should have been picked for the England squad ahead of Heaton as he was only testing himself against Championship players
Ive not seen much of Hart recently so Heaton may be playing better but just cos Hart is not in the Premier League does not suddenly automatically make him a worse keeper
Anyhow i'll give it a rest as this thread is more about how great Heaton was again today which im sure we'll both agree on

I've seen all of every game in every country and paid particularly attention to goalkeepers:
Tom is the dogs b0llocks of goalkeepers, right here right now!

Without a doubt the best keeper in England right now, his handling is world class , he catches balls that neur would parry for a start.
His " mini Gordon banks" save today coupled with the superb double save were simply world class.
Any of the "big 6" should snap him up, he's aPROPER keeper and his error ratio (all keepers make em) is remarkable

I think that makes him an outstanding goalkeeper is how calm he is, you don't see him flapping about or shouting at players, he just has a quiet word. Can't be many better free transfers in the clubs history.

Also enjoyed seeing two world class players, Van Dijk and Tom Heston.

What he lacks in height and size he makes up for in agility and the ability to read the play.

He is Burnleys best ever keeper.
People will harp on about Blacklaw but the game has moved on and keepers are far better than they were back then. The elders will probably disagree but go and watch some 1960s games on YouTube. Keepers are shocking compared to these days

Sounds like a question for Claret Tony!
How many points has Tom Heaton been worth so far this season? I know it's a loaded question but without him we would probably be ?? points less.
Have a go CT, the Oracle of all things Burnley.
The answer should be interesting.

Tom has made a number of top class saves this season but in my opinion what really marks him out is how few mistakes he makes.
He is absolutely brilliant. So proud he plays for us.

He is, and by some considerable margin, the best Burnley goalkeeper I have EVER seen.
I'm sure there may have been better, but I haven't seen them.
He is ABSOLUTELY brilliant. His double save in the closing stages was amazing.
I love him. Him and Joseph can fight it out to see which one of them wants to be my "man crush".

He has helped us secure a lot of points this season, that's for sure. Goalscorers often win the headlines but we all know how valuable Heaton is

Tom Heaton is one of the outstanding keepers in the Premier League so far this season (admittedly because he's been busy) which puts him in the bracket of De Gea, Loris, Cortoius, Cech. At 30 years old he's reaching his prime and can offer another steady 6 years without stretching reality. What value can you put on that? To Burnley he's priceless. Undoubtedly we'd be in a relegation scrap with a lesser keeper.

These stats include The % of shots saved by Goalkeepers (they have to have played 15 games)
I'm sure you could guess who has the highest percentage and who has the lowest.

Bravo has saved 57.41% of shots on target in the Premier League (18 of 31)
That puts him 14th overall in save percentage, among keepers to have played 15 games or more
Burnley's Tom Heaton has the highest save percentage with 76.32% (87 of 114)
Bravo has conceded 14 goals from the last 22 shots on target faced
