Needs to be playing further up the pitch, surely with barton on this is a possibility, on the only occassion he got forward in the second half he beat his man with ease and got the cross in, he is wasted sitting deep.

Wasted on the wing, if he's only going to play an hour, we need him on the ball in the middle.

Not sure whether he is physical enough in a 2.first name on the sheet if we are playing 5 across the middle. I thought he did ok out wide.

Marginalised today. It was crying out for the change with Barton in the middle and Barnes out wide, fortunately we made it.

Surprised that he didn't start in the middle and clearly not his ideal role.
Worst midfielder on the pitch though was (sadly) Deano

I thought it was silly to play him out wide. It's the old square pegs and round holes thing again. I didn't think he had a great game today, but I also think he was playing an alien position.

Was told this morning that Defour would be playing wide, I wouldn't have thought it was likely otherwise. Agree with Lancaster, I'm a big Marney fan but he was way off today.

Marney has an ongoing nerve damage issue.
not sure how you sort that, thankfully we now have cover.
