Yesterday's linesman

I've done a brief search and can't find a thread on it, but a somewhat bizarre / amusing moment in the first half yesterday when the linesman in front of the Bob Lord flagged for a corner when it was quite clearly a goal kick.

It appeared the ref, who over-ruled him, then had some banter with him over their headsets afterwards and he feigned a belly laugh at the ironic cheers for the next two decisions.

Good to see officials not taking themselves too seriously when he clearly just forgot which player was an attacker and who was a defender.

I thought he was tapping his chest as if he was having palpitations after getting it badly wrong!

Hmmmm could be, looked like he was pretending to laugh hysterically, but might be wrong.

As he came back towards the technical area, Ian Woan was ready to give him what for; instead Ian just laughed, I think they shared that moment. I'm sure if the decision wasn't overruled it would have been a different scenario

While on the subject of match officials, I thought the ref was using White spray paint to mark the distance for the players to be away from free kicks to be taken, due the length of time it was before the spray faded away. In one instance you could still see the line on the grass when the ref was spraying the next one a couple of minutes later.
