Good read as ever, been one or two threads over the weekend that have picked up on one or two themes in the article, particularly the ' how did we lose that', theme. I can really relate to the niggly, niggle that has niggled for a while as well.

Made me smile about buying the papers as I am sure there are thousands just like him who splash out when we win .

Bought three on Sunday and three this morning. Sundays were disappointing except for the Telegraph. Stephen Sutcliffe writes well... think he writes for Yorkshire Post as well as telegraph... and there are rumours he is a Claret. Then m,y pal in Burnley gets the Mail and the Sun... yeh I know... but decent for football.

'...cunningly canny...' Barton's been called similar - and by some Claret fans in the past! :D

hope the ‘how-the-hell-did-we-lose-that’ club becomes 'over-subscribed' by the end of the season! ;)

thanks for a good read as always!

I suspect I have a pre-match routine which has to be at least closely adhered to. I hate being late for anything and on match day I like to be at or close to the ground for a drink( sometimes a beer, other times just a cup of tea) I like to be in my seat just as players are leaving their warm-up. If all that more or less slots into place the rest is down to the team; if not then I sometimes feel the 'football demons' rear their ugly heads to spoil my day. I travel from Rossendale so there is no real reason for my routine to be interrupted but your journey from ' the dark side's would see me setting.off at more and more earlier times just to keep those demons away.

Dave re shot hit the bar. Many years ago in Burnley you could buy a Saturday night Sports Pink paper, with reports of the East Lancs games. Usually the last few minutes of the match reports were covered in the stop press section, sometimes with late racing results. I think it was after a local away derby with our neighbours that Alf Thornton wrote "Jimmy McIlroy had great **** hit the bar".

I enjoyed that. I'm also pleased to read that we might have a decent keeper coming up to secondary school next year, that is always a bonus.
