What Was Your Favourite Away Ground/Trip In The 70's/80's?

In the days when we knocked around in the old Third and Fourth divisions, piled into cars,
old Transit vans or dilapidated coaches, which ground, town or trip did you most look
forward to?
I always liked the trip to Scunthorpe and the pubs in the surrounding villages
When they played at the old Showground. Think they moved in the late Eighties.
Mansfield and Lincoln, too. Which did you like?

Halifax and Rochdale were always a lark
Think I'm in early 90's territory here but remember a cold winter's day on the old uncovered terrace at Halifax, feet sinking into some soft, snow covered tarmac type material whilst snowballs rained down from all angles. The photographer behind the goal soon shifted his position.
I think the front page title of a fanzine after that game was something like 'mud, scuds & missiles'

Crewe Alex for me (although may have been the 90's ?). Enjoyed the low roof and having almost the full length of one side of the pitch.
Stockport was always a delight, stood on the muddy bank on a wet Friday night and the delights of a visit into the open top breeze block urinals!

Plymouth for me, always remember the players getting off the coach and handing out tickets to us Clarets who had travelled. (The funny thing was I was stationed in Plymouth and had taken the 15 minute bus journey!)

Reckon once our fans returned post-Orient, while a lot the locals may not have been too fond of us on our travels, bet their bankmanagers were.

All places we used to travel in numbers to that I really enjoyed visiting. I really enjoyed Millmoor, yet never saw us win there.

Hartlepool in the cold driving rain in an open-topped stand but a good real ale pub in the town.
Carlisle where Burnley fans took over the pub across from the ground but had to use the back door.
Rochdale where the Cemetery Inn was appropriately named.

Hey, fact check: early part of the 70s we were Division 1 and 2 and Div 1 again - and then the slide started.
I was thinking I could put Anfield, Elland Road and Ewood Park - and the big one was Hillsborough v Newcastle - and Wembley (1988).
Sorry, yes, I got married, we had children, I moved away. You've caught me out - there is a "gap" in my Burnley supporting cv.

Millmoor - brilliant away end with a proper pitched roof. Always a good atmosphere despite the fact that I never saw the Clarets win there in umpteen visits. Grim bogs though.
