What a ridiculous comment - comparing a non-league club with a Premier League ticketing operation.

And why on earth should it be a farce? All people have to do is buy a ticket.

Very confusing on Saturday with the announcement there would be no cash turnstiles
What they didnt say was that tickets could be bought from the ticket office right upto kick-off.

The Club is great in most aspects but sometimes it appears completely out of touch and inflexible in other areas.

The announcement as it was made suggested if you had not got a ticket in advance of the night there was no point in coming to the ground.

I have asked before if anyone on here is a member of the ticketing working party but no-one has said they are.

It could well be a farce if a large number of supporters turn up at the ticket office betwen 7-30 and 7-45.

I hope the ticket office are staffed up to cope.

Don't see why we can't have some tickets at the turnstile? There all manned anyway, just hand your money over, get your ticket and go through, Sunderland seemed to manage it OK last week? Can someone enlighten me what exactly are the benefit of these fancy electronic turnstiles? Am struggling to think of one meself.

One of the big problems we do have at our club is the false information regularly given out over the PA on match days. The message going out should have been absolutely clear.

I've explained why we don't have tickets on the turnstiles and also that you still had to purchase a ticket at Sunderland.

I did remove it because I'd misread your post which made mine look stupid.

I read: "What they didnt say was that tickets could be bought from the ticket office right upto kick-off," as "What they DID say was that tickets could be bought from the ticket office right upto kick-off. "

He spent ages telling everyone there were cash turnstiles on Tuesday to then be corrected by someone and have to keep reiterating that there weren't cash turnstiles afterall.

The Supporters Liaison Group have a meeting with the club this Wednesday and ticketing is on the agenda - the youth game, this game and generally. I'll report back. This is a meeting that i attend. It was set up by the supporters groups back when Paul Fletcher was chief exec, it's our meeting rather than the club's.

I believe the ticketing working group is a club meeting and I don't believe they've released the names of those who are on it.

We had to tell people round us that they would be able to buy from the ticket office in cash and then take that ticket to the turnstile.

If that's aimed at me, I can assure you I don't. I'll defend the club when I think they are right but I'll be the first to criticise if I don't think they are right.

I'm not defending the club here, I'm just pointing out how I believe the ticketing system works.

If you decide to go on the night and know you need to buy a ticket to get in then don't leave it till 7.30. Simple really.

I wasn't able to go to the youth game a week last Friday but I'm told people were queuing at the turnstile and then being told they had to go for a ticket. Some gave up and went home.

Whatever the ticketing system is, the club are pretty damn poor at getting information out.

Boro fan here. We either have to go online/phone and pay to get season ticket card automatically updated for a cup match.

Non season ticket holder can buy online and either print out a ticket or collect from the collection point opposite the stadium.

Or you can go the ground to one of the 4 ticket offices, one outside each stand. Plus there is a separate away ticket office. All 5 ticket offices have around 4 booths. None match days, only main ticket office is open.

Work committments and distance to travel come into the equation I am afraid.

The same goes the other way. Some are too quick to attack the club.

We don't have any cash turnstiles, it's nothing new.

It's only really a problem for nights like tomorrow.

I'd still like us to have cash turnstiles (at least the option of a couple).

That's exactly right Tony....it also happened at one of the U23 games to someone I know. He then went into the club shop thinking that's where he bought his ticket. A member of staff pointed him outside. That same individual then presumably turned their chair round to face the outside ticket sales window and when given a £20 note said
" Have you nothing less ? "

The ticket office staff can only serve at the windows, that's where the terminals are.

Look at you lot, very posh.

We rebuilt our ticket office last year but until a canopy was very recently installed forced fans to stand out in the pouring rain for the privilege of buying a ticket.

I accept that Tony, but it seems the club are unable to load cup matches onto season cards and only have 4 windows from which to sell paper tickets.

All to be discussed at our meeting on Wednesday - not sure why we couldn't upload onto season card if buying own seat.

I hope no-one mentions the farce it was to order tickets online whereby they had to be done one at a time.
We had 6 envelopes delivered on Saturday morning each containing 1 ticket.

Oh and dont get me started on the premium rate number for the ticket office lol

I assume the issue is that the ticket needs to be sold by the ticketing system before it can be scanned, hence why CT says the turnstiles don't have the facility to sell tickets.

The obvious way round is to "sell" batches of tickets internally to be provided to the turnstiles and then credit the unused tickets back at the end of the night (probably by means of a journal rather than individually).

Logistically I wouldn't think there's an issue but obviously the club thinks the simpler method of only selling at ticket offices is easier.

Do we have print-at-home tickets for the match?

Exactly....Even if only half of tomorrow's crowd are intending to buy their tickets on the night ( bear in mind a lot of fans who can't afford to go normally and may not be familiar with the set up now will be going ) we could be looking at 5,000 people trying to buy tickets from 4 windows. Just seems impossible to me...

A Burnley FC App is the way forward.
Season ticket and subsequent cup tickets loaded onto a phone and phone scanned on entry QED.

Our previous ticket office sold tickets inside in the dry and warm (if we were in a position to be able to afford to switch the heating on) but when planning the upgrade it was decided that Northerners prefered to feel the benefit of arctic wind and rain to get their money's worth when purchasing a Premier League ticket.

My assumption exactly Aggi. However, given this is a competition which is struggling to attract crowds, youd have thought tge club would do their best to avoid a scenario where fans who might make a late decision to come arent confronted with the need to queue twice.

The only farcical thing is not being able to use your season ticket card for entry. Surely if I ring up as a season ticket holder and give them my clarets number they can just load another game onto my card? That's how it's done at other PL clubs as far as I'm aware.

Not sure you can say we have the same ticket policy as most other Premier league clubs, I bet out of the current 20 in the division there is less than 3 who can't load a cup game onto a season card.

As of Saturday we had sold 11000 so I would expect at least 13000 on tonight

Would a temporary fix not be to have a pop up 'stall' outside each stand with a bloke selling tickets? Surely all he needs is a cash register and a ticket printer (or have them pre printed)

Not ideal at all but that could be a temporary fix.
