Are we likely to manage over 10,000 tomorrow night?

Disappointing if so, I think if the board have dropped the ticket prices but there is no increase in the take up they may not do it in future.

Was the last time they did this the £5 tickets v MK?

How many will Sunderland bring? 500?

If we beat Sunderland tomorrow the same prices will no doubt apply against Fleetwood or Bristol City no matter what the gate is tomorrow.

We've sold just over 1500. Genuinely shocked, I though we'd sell out easily.

That's impressive and good to hear, surely there are 8500 clarets taking their seats?

If it were many more the queues to buy or collect tickets would be mad.

Sunderland fans needing a ticket have to buy from your ticket office. No away cash turnstyle.

With more time it would of been a good opportunity to hand out several thousand free tickets to schools in the area on the basis that each child needed an adult who would pay a token £5 or £10

Some additional revenue through the kiosks and hopefully a few new clarets for life

You can't pay on the gate because the 'gate' only scans barcodes these days as in your season ticket or paper tickets on sale for cup games.

When it was announced during the soton game there would be no cash turnstiles, people were just looking at each other shaking their heads.

Sometimes, even with the massive strides forward the club has made, they still struggle with the basics.

Supporters wishing to attend Tuesday’s FA Cup third round replay are respectfully reminded that there are no longer cash turnstiles at Turf Moor.
Entry to the stadium is by barcoded ticket, purchased in advance of the game from the ticket office windows to the rear of the Clarets Store.
Supporters are also asked to arrive early if purchasing tickets on the night, as queues can be expected close to kick off. The ticket office will remain open until half time.
However, please also be aware that if your ticket has been pre-purchased and is for COLLECTION ONLY, these will be available at the dedicated ticket collection point on Harry Potts Way, and NOT at the ticket office.
This collection point is for all pre-booked and complimentary tickets, other than hospitality tickets, which can be collected from the main reception of the relevant stand.

There'll be about 7,500 on and it will be absolute chaos.

Aaaahh!! the 60s where you handed over your coin and got a ticket back.
The operator handed his unsold tickets back and stumped up for what he'd sold.

So why can't the turnstile operators have a pile of tickets, sell them, scan them and hand them over?

I assume it's because they don't think the turnstile operators are capable of handling cash (or don't trust them).

Having previously worked on the turnstiles at Burnley I'm struggling to appreciate why they can't accept cash.

Hard work taking a ten pound note and handing a ticket over in 2017!

It sounds a massive ball ache that especially if it's raining. I could have been away with work which is why I didn't buy a ticket beforehand. I can't decide what to do tbh.

Absolutely no reason what-so-ever there cannot be at least one adult cash turnstile open in every stand tomorrow.

Concessions i can understand but we managed for years with this scenario up until the introduction of the scanners.

1) Take cash
2) Scan ticket
3) Give aforementioned ticket to punter and allow access.

Rocket science.

We're looking at several thousand people , including possibly a fair number of Sunderland fans, trying to buy tickets from 4 windows, or pick up tickets from 1 window.

Not the point is it? I'm not one to moan but I just don't understand why we can't have at least one cash turnstile per stand.

What facility are they missing?

When I worked on the turnstiles you were given a pile of tickets and a float.

You took the cash, handed over the ticket and change, stood on a footpedal to open the turnstile.

The only change in this process is that you would scan the ticket before handing it over.

There is no facility within the turnstile area for selling tickets. I take it you haven't worked on the turnstiles since they changed the system.

Yes they do, you have a pile of tickets which are exactly the same as the ones in the ticket office, they are sold and scanned by the turnstile operator.

Exactly the same scenario as pre 2014 except the turnatile operator has to scan the ticket rather than pressing a lever to allow access.

There is no facility for selling tickets at the turnstiles. The turnstile operators scan previously purchased tickets. We do not have ticket sales terminals in the turnstiles.

You haven't explained how they can't sell pre printed tickets (already barcoded) in exactly the same way as they did prior to 2014.

Because we introduced a new system in 2014. All tickets are sold through ticket sale terminals and we don't have them in the turnstiles. It's not just Burnley, I don't know of a single Premier League club that would allow you to pay at the turnstile.

Firstly, for home fans at Sunderland, they had to purchase tickets prior to getting to the turnstiles, just as we do tomorrow. For away fans, they have a ticket sales terminal situated at the away end which they are able to use. Not knowing whether I was going until the day before, I hadn't purchase a ticket. Not sure about Arsenal but don't Man U season ticket get sent the tickets automatically? I seem to remember a couple of years ago there was a big fuss because they had to buy them whether they wanted to or not.

We do have some new turnstiles as well, but it is not what the turnstiles are like, it is the fact that we have a different ticketing system and tickets are purchased from the ticket sales terminals and we do not have those at the turnstiles.

You still haven't answered why the system used pre 2014 cannot be used now, i realise there is no sales terminal in the turnstiles but there wasn't in 2013, tickets were pre printed for certain blocks in the stand and were sold at adult prices on the day, just because we don't do it doesn't mean we couldn't.

Because we don't have that pre-2014 system any longer - we upgraded the system to what we have now when we got back in the Premier League in 2014. Prior to that we could just stick tickets on the turnstiles.

Even for the youth cup tie last week supporters had to get a ticket from the ticket office to prior to going to the turnstile.

Maybe the system is crap, but a lot of clubs use the same one, and that includes Sunderland by the way. When I got there I still had to purchase a ticket. It's just that they have more terminals.

I fully appreciate that anyone turning up late tomorrow, having not known whether they were going to be able to make it, will probably be delayed, but there are plenty of ticket purchasing options available for those who know they are going.

Amazing that literally every non-league club in the world can have a system where a man on a turnstile takes your cash, gives you a ticket and lets you through, yet apparently a Premier League club can't.

It's going to be a farce tomorrow, entirely of the club's own making.
