Deserves a thread of his own after that performance.

Rolls Royce of a player!

To have a player of his quality not starting games says it all about our current situation.

What a fantastic position we are in as a club. Tarky will be a Hell of a player, it means we can afford to wave Keano off into the Champions League for £25-30 million at the end of this season and genuinely not fear for how to replace him (in my opinion).

I've been saying that since he came. I think Mee would have to break his leg before he gets a chance.

Virgil Van who?

He was awesome tonight. A footballing centre half, strong, assured and oozed class

He was very impressive tonight, its a shame he cannot get a start.

There was a piece of play in the first half where he jinxed past their centre mid with ease. Massive complement to Mee and Keane when he's on the bench. Great competition.

Tarkowski is one hell of a player. Outstanding tonight against PL opposition (just).

Makes it look so easy, very impressive. His distribution from the back is miles better than the punts from Ben.

He was good, and no mistake. But I think Keane or mee losing their place would be extremely harsh, as they have both been superb and undroppable.

Having said that, this lad sat on a bench ANYWHERE is a crime. I am almost wishing to myself that someone comes in with a big bid for keano so tarka gets his starting place.

Good reading all this stuff about Tarks.
Grand time to be a Claret, just now.

Wouldn't say Mee has been undroppable. I'd say he's been one of our weaker links personally.

Would love to see Keane and Tarks paired together.

Everyone thinks he will just bide his time until Keane goes, he has already had a little whinge in the telegraph about not playing.
His agent will be trying to get him a move away if he doesn't start matches soon.

Don't agree with that our current first choice defensive line up is very strong with Mee another fantastic centre half we currently have.

We need to be careful with Tarks. Far too good to be sat on the bench. He's been here a year now and not had much game time. Yes we were on an 23 game unbeaten run but he's gonna want to be playing. Hopefully we stay up and he steps in for Keane if he was to leave.

Outstanding. Genuinely 2 footed as well as being strong and a footballing centre back. That pass with the outside of his foot to Defour in the first half was pure class.

I'd like to see him against a good side before going too far over the top.

He's probably entitled to feel aggrieved about his lack of action, because judging from the few times we've seen him he's looked absolute quality.

The most pleasing thing though is he's obviously bought into the group just as the regular starters have and can come in and play like that when required. I really hope we see more of him very soon.

The main thing he has he is two footed which is rare these days where mee is one footed and kean same very good player tark

I'd play all 3 of them at Arsenal, with Lowton and ward as wing backs.

He can't do any more than he's done tonight. I'm a big fan of Ben Mee but quite honestly I think Tarky is on a different level to him. Calm, assured, two footed, the real deal. Him and Keane should be the centre halves on Saturday in my opinion.

And we'll just rip his contract up, shake his hand and then wave him off into the distance.

Seriously?? Ben Mee who has been an ever present in a team that currently sits 10th in the top division? Worth remembering we have just played Sunderland who offered zero attaching threat.

It wasn't a whinge really, was it?
He acknowledged how difficult it would be for Dyche to drop either Keane or Mee.
He's certainly given the 'gaffer' something to think about after tonight's class performance.

Absolute class is Tarks. For such a big, strong CH he is so cool on the ball and looks after it so well. Feels great to have 3 absolute class CH's at Burnley. I really have to pinch myself being a Claret at the moment. Frickin love it!

Steve Davis esque. I don't say that to take the ****, but Steve Davis the second was a class above Division 4, when I started watching us for really reals, and was my favourite player in my formative years, but there was a moment in the first half when he brought the ball out of defence and it was just like Steve Davis.

That said, it's against a sunderland side so impotent they won't even get cialis e-mails anymore.

But he was superb, worthy MOM and good that he's pushing for a start.

Good to see people realising the class he has, he could have made an excellent holding midfielder but SD takes a long time to cotton on.

Quiet now you silly billy............

There were a couple of games in pre-season he went in there just for little segments.

“At the end of last season at Birmingham away he came on and sat in front of the back four.

“I think he’s a very good footballer as well as a very good defender. Normally those types can work in other areas.

“I could see him at right-back even. You look at (Branislav) Ivanovic and you think with his size and the way he is, who knows. I’m not saying he is, it’s unlikely he’s going to play there, but it’s an option in extreme circumstances.

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Never seen a Burnley centre half as good on the ball as him. We are in safe hands should Keane move on this summer

Quoting this for the benefit of Sean Dyche. Whatever Dyche's personal qualities he evidently needs a few tips on being a manager.

Agree that Tarks looks the part but come on folks, he's been up against an absolutely pathetic side in Sunderland, so to say he should start over Ben Mee based on those two games is bonkers. Mee has been outstanding against top class opposition.

Tarks time will come when Keane almost inevitably leaves in the summer (or either centre back gets an injury or suspension).
